Writer from The Intercept who has a history of attacking black democrats particularly black women over social media

1. Feel like he didn't add "white" to that list of descriptors on purpose

2. The media FUCKING loves straight white young men. The dipshit Covington kids were media darlings for like a month.

Looking into the cause of violent crimes is not excusing their behavior. We know that life expectancy has been declining for years, and people feel more lonely than ever.

22% of millenials say they don't have a single friend. How much more susceptible are they to hateful messaging because of this? Obviously access to guns plays a huge role. Happy people of any political spectrum typically don't go shooting people.

Yeah, I'd like to beat Trump but I also don't want to go into another recession

I won't cheer for it when it happens even if people need to learn that votes have consequences.

The world economy wasn't doing so hot in 2015/early 2016 either and that *may* have helped Trump, but I'm not sure most Americans noticed if they weren't looking at their 401Ks.

WaPo: 'The headline was bad': New York Times amends front page on Trump's response to mass shootings after backlash
The New York Times weathered intense backlash Monday night for its front-page headline about President Trump's response to the pair of mass shootings that read: "TRUMP URGES UNITY VS. RACISM."
A preview of Tuesday's front page shared to social media sparked instant criticism from members of the public, journalists and politicians, including several 2020 Democratic presidential candidates, many of whom took issue with how the publication framed Trump's comments on the weekend attacks in El Paso and Dayton, Ohio, that left at least 31 people dead and dozens injured. In the aftermath of the tragedies, major media outlets have faced scrutiny from all sides over how they confront Trump and his often inflammatory rhetoric.
About an hour after the headline went viral, the Times announced that it had amended its wording.
"The headline was bad and has been changed for the second edition," a spokesperson for the Times told The Washington Post in an email.
Later editions of the print paper feature the words, "ASSAILING HATE BUT NOT GUNS." Subheads above the two stories about Trump's speech were also changed.

Let me know when antifa has a gigantic grey web forum loaded with child pornography. Did this person leave any hint of motive other than some misc twitter likes?

Didn't police confirm that the Dayton shooter's sister was there and killed? I would tend to focus on that and his obvious toxic mysoginy and fantasies of violence exhibited by his "pornogrind" band.

We may have Eliot Rodger v2. 0 or 12.0, I can't keep up at this point

For my entire lifetime, after each mass shooting we've seen politicians in Washington condemn the loss of life and offer their condolences. They talk about change, but it remains easier to buy weapons of war than a bottle of beer. They condemn the acts of lone individuals, but are too embarrassed or evasive to confront the hateful ideology that spurs so many to act — because an unrestrained gun lobby and racial division serves so many of their political interests. We've traumatized an entire generation and are set to traumatize yet another.

Meanwhile, every day, one at a time, we continue to lose an average of 100 lives to gun violence — disproportionately in black and brown communities — all around the country, including in my hometown.

Enough.
Preach.

Find me a Democrat more unprepared for the moment than Joe Biden.

Joe Biden says that video games are part of the problem. "It is not healthy having these games teaching kids this dispassionate notion you can...blow their brains out," he says. He adds, "It's not in and of itself why we have this climate."

When pressed on which specific game Biden was referring to and what data he was referencing to come to such conclusion, the answer...

...oh that is giving the press too much credit.

Bloomberg: Republicans Fear 'Extinction in the Suburbs' Over Gun Control
After two gruesome mass shootings in a 24-hour span, some Republicans are raising alarms that their opposition to new firearm limits is making the party toxic to the suburban women and college graduates who will shape the 2020 election.
"Republicans are headed for extinction in the suburbs if they don't distance themselves from the NRA. The GOP needs to put forth solutions to help eradicate the gun violence epidemic," said Dan Eberhart, a Republican donor and oil-and-gas executive who supports President Donald Trump.
Last year, Eberhart said, he was having lunch with Rick Scott when the then-Florida governor learned of the massacre unfolding in Parkland. It marked the deadliest high school shooting in U.S. history, as a gunman used an AR-15-style rifle to kill 17 people. Eighteen months later, as the country reels from killing sprees in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, Eberhart said it's time to join Democrats and majorities of Americans who want to ban those types of guns.
"The GOP needs to make several moves such as universal background checks, eliminating loopholes and banning military-style assault weapons to neutralize the issue," he said. "Otherwise, Republicans will lose suburban voters just like they did in the midterms on health care."

Um, no that's not gonna work at all

How is this an acceptable solution to anyone with a fully functional human brain? How is you or your neighbor owning an AR-15 with 100 round drum magazine worth having armed police every 50 feet? I just can't even comprehend this thought logic. Does Hannity surround himself with armed body guards to keep his nutjob fans away from him and his family, so therefore he thinks that is just a normal way of life? That is the only possible way I can even knot my brain in any way to make sense of his bullshit.

I don't know what is more scary that all of these GOP politicians and Hannity know what they are saying is ridiculous and they just say it anyways or if they actually believe what they are saying is true.

Trump really screwed future Presidents in their ability to combat China.

Pretty incredible that there will be large amount of evidence that the president will be the one to cause a recession. It is ridiculous that we got to this point - many Americans thinking that Trump would improve the economy because he was a businessman only for him to cause a recession. I wonder just how many will blame Trump for this. Probably not enough, still if there is even a little bit support even after Trump potentially caused another recession it can be safely said that a significant portion of the country is still lying to themselves believing that they actually care about the economy when they only care about keeping people that they don't like down.

Trumpism is basically a suicide cult at that point.

Don't worry recession will probably happen just as a democrat gets in the house, for every conservative idiot to switch blame.

Um, no that's not gonna work at all

I think her biggest issue is going to be Bernie and Biden staying in for the long haul.

Everyone has personal politics. Not all mass shootings are politically motivated. (Most are domestic violence.) It's beyond irresponsible to use the Dayton shooter's lefty Twitter to assign a political motive. The far right would like to equate Dayton to El Paso. Don't let them.

Voters were least impressed with the performance of Mayor Bill de Blasio of New York, with just over a quarter — 26 percent — of voters calling his performance "poor."

Am I the only one who likes de Blasio in these debates?!

Granted once he started his "I'll take that as a win!" gloating it became clear why New Yorkers hate the guy lol

I dunno, I get the feeling whenever De Blasio is in the debates that he definitely is forceful. I just don't get the impression that he actually stands for anything, he just seems to stand against others on the stage.

A 7-point spread among the top three, particularly given Biden and Bernie's name ID and Bernie's blowout performance there three years ago, makes it a pretty tight race at this point no? Granted Warren's name ID in NH is prob not as low as it is in many other states, given how close it is to MA (and sharing a media market), but I feel like even there Warren has more room to grow than Biden and Bernie do.

But, the shooting was more based on his misogynistic beliefs.

The leftist extremist won't stick with those that actually care because Democrats will have no problem separating from the Dayton shooter. There also isn't a manifesto that uses language the left uses. So the only people that will harp on it are those that have already decided they hate the left.

Kellyanne completely misses the point as usual and is just hopping mad that the Dayton shooter didn't leave a politically motivated manifesto behind like the El Paso shooter did.

Dems: Let's do something about guns regardless of which party the shooter belongs to.
GOP: We've tried nothing and it's fine.

Those numbers in NH are pretty damn dire for Bernie. He's a known quantity. He was able to carry the state by a huge margin in 2016. There is no realistic way he can expect to win the nomination without outright winning NH. Warren could survive a second place finish there, but I just don't see a path for Bernie if he cannot win the state. (There's no real path because of his continued inability to connect with black women voters, but you know...) A win in Iowa could propel whomever wins there to the top of the pack in NH. Or NH could NH and end up voting for someone else randomly.

I want to bang my head into a wall every time I read some conservative say, "Trump had nothing to do with it. Read the manifesto. He says he wasn't influenced by Trump."

He also says he isn't a white supremacist and racist. Guess we have to believe that part too.
