So, how is it the democrat's fault that Trump is a xenophobic racist?

The Democrats made it clear, publicly, that they didn't back the young women of color in the House. That emboldened Trump to come out with this racist-ass garbage. He even explicitly defended Pelosi in this weekend's tweets.

We gotta hold Trump responsible. But if we are pretending that the Democratic Party hasn't been trying to silence these ladies for months, then we aren't holding them to full account. Dems can do much, much better.

Right!

And Democrats could've stood up for one of their own when this bullshit was being hawked at her months ago. They didn't.

They could and should have because it's the right thing to do but do you really think for a moment that Trump wouldn't be making the same racist rants either way because he got triggered watching Fox News earlier that morning?

People hate feeling powerless. Acting as though Democrats could stop all of this if they just weren't so SPINELESS AND WEAK helps them cope.

A millisecond of thought would tell you that racism is an integral part of Trump's character and he'd be making comments like this no matter what.
What a surprise, one of the people that was gung-ho for the smear campaign against a muslim WOC refuses to admit that Republicans capitalized on it.

I have to say, I'm somewhat curious if the fallout from his remarks will have any bearing on the already tenuous ground trying to be tread to pass a fiscal deal to avoid the cliff.
There won't be any "fallout"

We've been in this cycle for years. He likely instigated this to get the media to forget about the child sex parties that were happening in his homes.

Trump would still be saying racist shit if the dems had done nothing but the defense of Pelosi shows me he just wanted to insert himself into a dem feud and be racist so yeah I would say that the dems share some blame for setting this whole thing off. By the way, Pelosis defense yesterday was so fucking weak that it's an entirely new thing to criticize her for

That's thinking too far. He saw Fox News talking about Omar again and got mad at the Muslim wearing the terrorist head garb saying mean things about him.

go fuck yourself mittens

Fuck Romney.

[from 2011]

The newspaper sent a team of reporters to Guatemala after getting a tip that Romney had hired a landscaping company notorious for using illegal immigrants. They tracked down three former landscapers who claimed to have been in the United States illegally when they worked on Romney's lawn.

One of them, Rene Alvarez Rosales, said he worked for Romney eight years landscaping his lawn, occasionally getting a "buenos dias" from Romney himself. Others told the Globe of casual encounters with Romney over the years, during which he had never inquired about their status.

Romney's first response to reporters' questions about the matter: "Aw, geez."

Since when has Trump waited to be "emboldened"?

The only thing that happened was these four were in the news. If they were in the news for any reason, this would have happened.

Anything to avoid holding the Democratic House leadership accountable for putting the squad on a damn island and publicly signaling the lack of solidarity with them... but hey, I'm all in favor of holding Trump accountable. Start impeachment proceedings, NOW. But wait, now we're back to House Dem leadership again...

Today is a good day to remember some recent history:

As the Iranian Revolution exploded, academics and socialists sat around bitching about tactics as the theocratic fascists swooped in to fill the power vacuum.

This is what has been going on for a while now and explains a lot of the current dem leadership. 2 types of games are being played and they are completely different.

Sen. Lisa Murkowski @lisamurkowski

There is no excuse for the president's spiteful comments –they were absolutely unacceptable and this needs to stop.

We have enough challenges addressing the humanitarian crises both at our borders and around the world. Instead of digging deeper into the mud with personal, vindictive insults –we must demand a higher standard of decorum and decency.

NEW: GOP Sen. Tim Scott: "The president interjected with unacceptable personal attacks and racially offensive language. No matter our political disagreements, aiming for the lowest common denominator will only divide our nation further." https://abcn.ws/32l7d30

Nixon did this kind of shit all the time in casual conversation. Can you imagine all the times he ranted about Democrats collaborating with the Vietcong in between remarks about how the Jews were undermining him? He just had the good sense to not do it during public press conferences.

The GOP is shit and has been shit for a long time. I'll vote against them every chance I get. But they are a lost cause, a party of deplorables. The Democratic Party can do much better on treatment of PoC and related issues. We must hold our own party accountable in order for it to improve.

Yes, but one of the biggest reasons for why we're here in the first place is society would rather two-sides every fucking issue imaginable.

That was my point as well. Dem leadership should be better, but it gets dragged up regularly despite whatever horrible shit the GOP is doing.
Again, for two reasons: (1) they hate feeling powerless and would rather believe that Democrats could stop all of this if they weren't spineless rather than be hopeless and accept we can't stop a lot of what Trump does or says; or (2) they have a bone to pick, no matter how legitimate, and want to insert it everywhere, regardless of relevance or context, to make their point.
