John McCormack @McCormackJohn

10 days ago, Sen. Kennedy said quid pro quo "probably" impeachable if Trump's motive was political. https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/gop-senator-john-kennedy-quid-pro-quo-probably-impeachable-if-trump-motive-political/ …

Now Kennedy says what matters if quid pro quo was "illegal" https://twitter.com/burgessev/status/1197193948244168705 …

12:32 PM - Nov 20, 2019

Burgess Everett @burgessev

Sen. Kennedy: "the fact there was, the fact that there may be a quid pro quo is meaningless. Now, If you want to talk about an illegal quid pro quo, that's relevant"

They'll never vote to convict, they're stuck on the sinking ship until electoral results tell them otherwise.

My GF brought up this idea the other day and it sounds brilliant, but I don't know if it's feasible.

Can the Senate pass a rule forcing an anonymous vote on impeachment/removal from office via a simple majority? If so, it might be feasible to get a couple Republican senators to get that passed.

If the vote is anonymous, I'm pretty confident there would be enough votes to remove Trump from office.
I think that could potentially backfire. Giving Republican senators the means to anonymously not convict the president is far easier on them than publicly supporting his crimes. No attack ads against them if their vote is hidden.

I can't believe they think "talk to Rudy doesn't mean go talk to Rudy" is a line of questioning that isn't hilarious

What is there even left to ask in the Dem debate that hasn't been asked already? Or is it just going to regurgitate previous debate questions on healthcare, etc, with the same answers.

Why is Sondland saying Trump never told him to crime? We know he did.

PBS NewsHour @NewsHour

GOP counsel Steve Castor: "You don't have records, you don't have your notes because you didn't take notes. You don't have a lot of recollections. I mean, this is the trifecta of unreliability."

Sondland: I'm using what limited info I have "to be as forthcoming as possible"

Paul McLeod @pdmcleod

Condensed Devin Nunes opening: "Welcome to the circus… asinine accusations… absurdity… impeachment crusade… past the point of no return… smear the president… frenzy…"

And then: "Ambassador Sondland, you are here today to be smeared."

Seems pretty clear that Nunes wrote his opening statement before the details of Sondland's testimony broke and he didn't get a chance to update it.

in the long long ago of 2016, a lot of folks got Big Mad that there weren't Infinite Debates scheduled weekly and so now we have this bullshit.

These witnesses really need to keep pushing the narrative that the White House is obstructing justice by preventing them from accessing their notes and evidence.

Michael Cohen: "He doesn't give you questions, he doesn't give you orders, he speaks in a code."

If nothing else, Sondland has demonstrated he's absolutely unqualified for his job.
