Sometimes resignations are actually another form of firing. Being asked to resign instead of being fired is a common practice when there is a contract.
It was a bookmark not a tabThis is why u always close your browsers and start fresh before a presentation.
You're not a dumb person because you leave a random tab on your browser. This thread actually made me look at my bookmarks and I don't remember adding any of them, and I had meetings recently where I opened up my browser. Had no porn though :D
The unfortunate part is that the bookmark is literally "Busty College Girls" while he's teaching at college. I can see and understand students feeling weird about this. Let's just not act like "Busty College Girls" is a rare genre or something extremely specific in porn. It's up there with fucking step-siblings and step-mom porn.
Man's biggest mistake was to not use porn mode for his porn tbqh
The teacher had "Busty college girl fu..." in his browser? This happened to my GF's law school professor but without the consequences because it was a small (6ish) person class and no one said anything about it. They all laughed their asses off though. IIRC though it wasn't a boomark but just a tab though.
In WFH times, sometimes the lines can be blurred. What a dummy. There is a reason people tell you to keep a work computer and a personal computer. Don't sync em don't do anything. Keep that shit separate. Don't do anything on a work computer you wouldn't want to do in front of the whole office. He should be fired for breaking that simple rule.
Not a man... the professor made an honest mistake.Got to love all the men telling everybody in this thread there's nothing wrong with this
Gotta love how one of his actual female student's opinion in the OP is just disregarded/ignoredGot to love all the men telling everybody in this thread there's nothing wrong with this
Me neither.
This is why you use one browser for work and another for pleasure
It's not some morally abhorrent thing, but this is textbook making your position untenable. No girl is going to feel comfortable in his classes going forwards. A resignation is the sensible thing to do.
At the end of the day, the professor is supposed to be a smart person who educates his students in a safe learning environment.
Leaving up a porn tab detailing your fantasies with some of those potential students is not smart or providing a safe learning environment for all the students.
How'd you know it's an amateur vid? You have the link?
One computer for workI'll go a bit further on this. One computer for work - One computer for other purposes.
...Please tell me this is real, I'm fucking dead if it is.
Dunno how it works with Chrome, but in Firefox Mobile when you bookmark something it gets positioned first in the folder.
Uh find me a straight man who isn't attracted to 20 year old porn models. Such a person would be a pretty big outlier, and those outliers do not happen to all be college teachers. That's a pretty infeasible standard.A college teacher watching college girl porn is not wrong ? Didn't you read the concern the female students had ? What's so difficult to understand here ?
Additionally, the bookmark was intentional as there is some element of fetishizing the young women that he is teaching. He is in a position of "power" where he controls their grades. Nothing stopping him from sending emails to "busty" college girls and trying to trade sex for grades. Guy shouldn't be teaching anywhere.
Eh, for me, it's more about power dynamics. They're your professor. There's a reason why there's often a policy of students and teachers not dating, EVEN when it's legal. You realize advertising is done inte
You, and other bring up power dynamics, but it feels more that it breaks this illusion of professionalism and respectability to the point it damages your relationship with that person.
Like if you were a 21+ student and saw an instructor at the same club you were at with your friends, dancing with people around your age. Or if you saw your boss in a similar situation. There's nothing inherently wrong with what they're doing, but it would still make you feel uncomfortable
The air up there must be mighty thin for you to think that even one adult in this thread is going to feel ashamed for watching porn.
Dunno how it works with Chrome, but in Firefox Mobile when you bookmark something it gets positioned first in the folder.
He was a lecturer. Do these positions even get issued work computers?Yeah, he fucked up. In that position of power, can't walk that one back. The women students trust is forever ruined and it's just extremely unprofessional.
also, If that's a company computer, there's normally clauses in his contract that also say not to do that on company property.
Honestly it's not hard for links to accidentally get dragged onto your bookmarks bar without you intending or realizing until much later. Much more likely than someone intentionally bookmarking a button with the title "Busty college girl fu..."Jesus you're really stupid enough to have that in your bookmarks bar? Come on dude. How often do you fucking click on that shit???
In WFH times, sometimes the lines can be blurred.
The real best strategy is to use a Guest/Incognito window for anything being streamed to others (not just for porn; but to avoid leaking other secret info like accounts, emails, etc.)
Bookmarking porn. Humph! If it's good porn, you'll remember that shit.

It's one student's opinion vs. multiple student opinions. If some college girls in his class aren't comfortable with his fetishization of college girls, then what're you going to do? Just because it's been normalized doesn't mean it's right.Gotta love how one of his actual female student's opinion in the OP is just disregarded/ignored
This isn't harassment though, it was clearly an accident. It's a deeply uncomfortable situation for everyone involved, but it seems wrong to suggest this was harassmentPretty much this. I think a lot of the men replying in this thread aren't thinking about this from the perspective of the female students who said they were uncomfortable. And bear in mind that sexual harassment is something women have to deal with at much higher rates, especially at this age.
I don't think this says enough to make a definitive statement about his character, especially without knowing what the specific video was, but resigning was the right call given the difference in power and the discomfort he'd put at least some of his female students in.
Your other post definitely sounded like you were being condescending imoYour immediate defensiveness is certainly something to behold.
All I said is that I don't watch much porn. I have no idea why you've read so much into such a simple statement. After all, weren't you trying to explain popular porn search terms to me originally? Clearly I didn't know much about it...because, again, I don't watch much porn. Certainly less than you, which is why I'm sure you're an expert on porn-viewing habits.
