So, despite fully intending to go the Xbox all access route through Smyths, now I have a Series X order with amazon I might not bother and just pay for the console.

I just feel that as soon as they come available with Smyths (whenever that is) they are going to be gone....or even worse like happened to some people with GAME, I could set up all of the credit check stuff, get the offer and the have it fail on me when actually buying the console which means I have to potentially be contacting companies to find out what has happened. Not sure if I can bothered with all that.
Oh gosh where did you read that? That's annoying

Ah fuck it, I'm happy with an S. Stressed myself out trying to get a Series X then realised I don't really give a fuck about 4K.

It's not that desirable of an item. People who pre-order consoles are enthusiasts, so they'll gravitate towards the Series X instead. Even after launch I can't see the Series S being all that popular.

I honestly expect it to be more popular. A friend of mine who's a lifelong PlayStation player is for the very first time actually considering an Xbox (secondary machine), specifically the Series S as a gamepass machine.

Launch pre-orders are all about the enthusiasts, so no surprise X sold out instantly. I think S stock will be more important Black Friday - Xmas for casual audience and in general going forward.
Yeah, that's true. Casuals will be the real test for series s.
Yeah it seems to be the opposite so the PS5 where they had way less digital.

Will be interested to see if we get a rough split from retailers later on.
PS5 was 25 digital to 75 physical right? Yeah this is completely different it seems.

My amazon smile order from 0758hrs this morning is still standing :)
I don't really need the series X as I gone down the ps5/ pc route for next gen so I won't be disappointed if it's get cancelled, but nevertheless I managed to order one, just in case :)

For sure, but based on some numbers from stores, they're shipping the X at a 5 to 1 rate, demand is lower but so is the stock.

Yea, but we don't know if that's just a different market allocation strategy. Maybe MS expects that right now, people won't be going to stores - and even if they are, it'll only be the really hardcore. Do we think that OVERALL stock of Xboxen are down too? Or is that just the way that physical allocations are getting done? We just don't know.

Hoping I haven't been charged multiple times on the Microsoft Store, clicked Buy and got error messages every time. Eventually managed to get the £479 Watch Dogs Legion bundle from AO.com and received a confirmation email with order number, item, price, delivery address, etc. Was so, so stressful but I'm glad I got it done.

Game customer service replied and said they were aware of collect at store display incorrectly on ordered confirmations, but if you didn't pick a store to collect from, your order will be delivered to your home address.

Smyths selling the Series S now indicates that they had a bunch of stock for "stores" and a bunch of stock for "online"... When the website went pop it looks like they just shifted it all to in store.

Absolutely farcical.

Someone at Simplygames has a dry sense of humour at least, from their front page
