I keep seeing this assertion of 'elecability' and him being more attractive to people, yet he "has the same goals".
What is it about him that makes him 'electable'? As far as I can tell, it's because he is a standard 'normal' posh man.
One thing I agree with Jess Phillips on is that it would be a bit embarrassing to elect a man in this scenario, given his campaign seems to be centred on the idea that he is an inoffensive posh man who can articulate the same ideas as his more off-putting women rivals.
There is a bit more to it than 'another posh man', everything you hear about RLB suggests if she wins we'll get 5 more years of Labour fighting itself and not the tories because she has the exact same team behind her, any of the other candidates would be better than that but Starmer is the best positioned because he has the respect of the left for his loyalty to Corbyn and the right for his Brexit stance. I don't really care if the next leader is a man or a woman, I thought Raynor would have been a better choice than RLB but they backroomed us out of having that choice.
Channel 4 is putting out some good stuff that has a lot of the behind the scenes info on the leadership race, recommend everyone interested listening to this:
