Yeah unfortunately the press and social media is run by the right. The press are always going to find something to criticise about any Labour immigration policy that isn't completely shutting down the borders. Unfortunately with the number the press and the right wing has done on the British public, any idea of Labour governing for more than a term in the next couple of decades seems pretty unlikely.

Yeah that's pretty much my worry. I can't see any realistic path out of this when the media hold so much power and these seeds have been laid for so many years now. Indeed, despite the dire result, the policies labour had had very good ratings across the board, it was when you added that it was Labour's, and then corbyns labour did the ratings sink.
After a clean out top to bottom and a rethink of the Labour Party, they need to keep the underpinning socialist polices that people love and wrap it around a ruthless, effective pin sharp leadership and a media darling leader. Then win elections and push thier agenda low key like. They played nice and got nowhere.
