Even though I'm not as excited about RE3MAKE as I was about 2...it got my vote here. FF VII looks grand too, for the record.

I want to go with final fantasy 7 remake. I dont really like ff7 due to complex story, but i want to try it nonetheless

RE3 because it's a full game.

Xbox owner, so Resident Evil 3.

Even it it was coming out, I think I'd probably go with RE3 over FFVII. Mainly because... I really don't have the patience for a long-ass RPG (or a third of one, apparently). I played FFXII and got maybe hallway through it. Plus I'm always a bigger RE fan than a FF fan.
FF XII is an absolute slog though, with one of the most unengaging combat systems on this planet. Those two aren't really comparable.

I also tried FFXV and barely got an hour in... And I could actually look past the bad combat--my issue with XII was twenty plus hours in... I just got distracted by other games and felt the need to play something else, and by the time I might've wanted to circle back to XII, my brother had donated our PS2 (admittedly this was near the start of the Xbone/PS4 generation, and I hadn't played on the PS2 for a long while).

Why do you only play the worst Final Fantasies lol. Yeah, when a game relies on worldbuilding a lot, it's really hard to get back to it after you played something else in between.

To be fair, isn't every new Final Fantasy the Final Fantasy that ruins Final Fantasy forever? :P
Not really no. XII was fine outside the boring ass combat and rushed story.

XIII and XV are when shit went downhill.

I dont think the "FF has become bad" opinion is something people held in the PS1/early PS2 days.

I'm excited for RE3 as that was my first foray into the franchise, but I'll be waiting a few months for that one, whereas FFVII is day one.

We're blessed to be getting both so close to one another, but if you forced me to delay one for another couple of months, it would be FF7 no question.

If RE2 Remake was anything to go by, I get the feeling I'm going to be replaying and enjoying RE3 for a long time to come.

Hard pick for me. FFVII is one of my favorite games of all time and one of my favorite gaming memories of all time. After being an Advent Children lover my whole childhood, I'm really excited to see the game get updated to look just as good as that.

On the flip side, I only ever played RE at friends' houses as a kid. It wasn't until this year that I played REmake that I said "huh, this is good!" Then I played RE2make and it's now one of my favorites ever as well.

Both demos got me jones'in, and I'm glad we get RE3 first since its shorter. I can't really vote!

The one people have asked for for about 20 years and has been in development almost as long

RE3 if only because I was pretty sold on FF7 up until I realized I'd rather play it on a PC in about a year. Might still get it on the PS4 if it goes on sale before then, but who knows. Waited this long already, what's another year or more.

Been torn between these two actually. Decided to go with FF7R first for a few reasons. Fresh off of RE2.. loved it, but a bit burned out. Need a change of pace. Also, between the 2, if anything is going to drop in price faster, it'll definitely be RE3. Would rather wait till it's $30 on PC with 500 Jill outfit mods in like 3-4 months.... Plus, I hated RE3 on PS1 back in the day, but willing to give this Remake a try.. demo was fun.... But not for $60.

Mmm i wouldn't be that sure. I feel like the people that played the older final fantasy games didn't really enjoy the direction with the Nomura aesthetic, and overall anime vibe and storylines. I might be wrong though, but i've seen that kind of comments online.

Different age groups i guess.

I feel like the more I've seen of FF7R, the less interested I've become, and the opposite being true for RE3.

I remember the complaints about 9 getting away from the nomura aesthetic being way bigger than 7 going anime.

People were way too busy with bein hype about 7s visuals and edginess to have time co plaining about anything lol.

Absolutely Final Fantasy VII Remake for me. The characters, story, visuals, and combat are so so appealing. I absolutely can't wait to jump in on launch day.

I am also hyped for Resident Evil 3 though! Will be grabbing it on launch day and playing through the weekend. Game looks ridiculous, I can't wait to be chased around by Nemesis.

Resident Evil 3 easily. VIIR's demo was alright but not "must buy ASAP" worth. Maybe during a sale.

Why is this some kind of petty contest for so many of you? They both look like fantastic games.

I'd say both but after playing the FF7 demo, I don't think I'll be picking that one up.

RE3 looks to be everything RE2 was and more.

I don't have a problem with the remake being split (seems necessary), but it does influence how much I'm looking forward to it. I'm looking guard to part 2 coming out more than part 1, if that makes sense. I'll probably replay part 1 just before 2 comes out, then do the same for 3.

But RE3 is a one and done, so I'm looking forward to (/dreading) it a little bit more.

Final Fantasy VII Remake for me. I won't buy it at launch, but will definitely play it this year. As for Resident Evil 3, I may play it someday, but probably not in 2020.

i've played the original ff7, not the original re3, and since i think ff7 is just "good" while i think the re2 remake is fantastic, i'm much more excited for r3make.

certainly helps that it's going to be a complete package with a multiplayer mode that sounds interesting. probably gonna get more out of it than the ff7 remake!

i'll definitely check out ff7 later this year when it goes on sale

I am excited for both but the FFVII demo completely shredded any doubt I had left. It was everything I was hoping a FFVII Remake would be. So FFVII

That said... RE3 demo was also great.

It's just good that we are getting what look like two fantastic games coming out in a week of each other. Actually maybe that's a bad thing :)

None of them at the moment.

I quite enjoyed RE2:Remake, but I can wait a while before playing the new one.
Final Fantasy was never a compelling series for me, but maybe I'll try the FFVII remake in the future.

I'm more looking forward to Xenoblade Chronicles and Nier.

I am still way more worried about FF7, being stuck in development hell for so long and changing developers mid way.
Has this ever really boded well?

That and the bizarrely deceptive marketing of selling the game as 'Final Fantasy 7 Remake', when it is only a fraction of what people understand as the original content.

I was actually surprised by the demos. FF7 felt a lot more polished than RE3 and I was expecting the opposite.

Initially RE3 but I am more hyped for FF7 now, probably because we've already had some REmake goodness during the last 18 months or so.

Yes.. The same for me. I never even got to Nemesis in the RE3 demo... coming fresh off of RE2, trying to break out of zombies with X instead of countering with square felt... off. I still liked it for what it was, but it didn't raise my hype any further.

On the other hand though, I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed the gameplay of FF7R. Played through the demo 3 times now... It was clear to me which one I needed to play first.
