Ugh, I'm still so backed up on stuff from March and April... Can't keep up anymore! Massive month.

Sunday, 2
Pose - FX - 10/9c - Final Season
I am not ready to ugly cry alone during a pandemic. Highlight of the month #1, assuming I survive the season.

Tuesday, 4
Star Wars: The Bad Batch - Disney+
Highlight of the month #2. It's more Clone Wars, and the backdoor pilot arc was a lot of fun.

Thursday, 6
Dark Side of the Ring - Vice - 10/9C
Another standout, the first two seasons were excellent. Added it in so I don't forget. Some wild subjects this time!

Friday, 7
Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet - Apple TV+
I have liked exactly one episode of this show, but I will get to this new season at some point because I can't ever seem to just cut my losses.

Sunday, 9
Axios - HBO - 6/5c
Show has been good so far, always worth a watch.

Monday, 10
The Crime of the Century - HBO - 9/8c
Falling behind on my HBO docs (still haven't seen QAnon or Pray/Obey) so maybe at some point.

Thursday, 13
Castlevania - Netflix - Final Season
Overall mediocre, but we'll see how they close it out (until reboot with new cast).

Friday, 14
Love, Death & Robots - Netflix
Enjoyed the first season for the most part; this should be cool.

PRIDE - FX - 8/7c
FX docs have been solid, interested to check this out.

Thursday, 20
Adventure Time: Distant Lands - HBO MAX
Pumped for the Finn and Jake "episode."

Friday, 21
(Marvel's M.O.D.O.K. - Hulu)
Maybe. Robot Chicken sucks but that hasn't stopped me from watching every episode.

Sunday, 23
Duncanville - Fox - 8:30/7:30c
Let's see if this awful pile can improve.

Tuesday, 25
Mr Inbetween - FX - 10/9c - Final Season
Highlight #3. The best show most people on this forum have never heard of. Season 2 was a staggering achievement. A better BARRY (and BARRY is just a worse DELOCATED).

Friday, 28
Lucifer - Netflix
Recent trailer seems to spoil where the show is going, but it has been a fun ride. Unexpectedly so.

Monday, 31
Housebroken - Fox - 9/8c
It's The Secret Life of Pets, but "traditionally" animated. Shrug.

Probably The Girlfriend Experience. S1 and S2 were crazy and more people should watch them, especially the Carmen Ejogo episodes.

Just finished watching We Are Who We Are and loved it. It's a bit challenging and weird in the first couple of episodes, but it's worth it.
Halfway through WandaVision, and getting to Castlevania S3 and For All Mankind S2 next week.

Thanks for the topic RatskyWatsky. It's always very helpful.

I'm most looking forward to Castlevania, of the new/returning shows. Now that their seasons are half in, time to start the following April shows soon:

Gangs of London
City on a Hill
Mare of Easttown
The Nevers (after we finish Shadow and Bone)

May 7 - Jupiter's Legacy (Netflix)
May 13 - Castlevania (Netflix) - This show has been excellent.
May 14 - Love, Death and Robots (Netflix) - First volume had some good stuff, and some weak stuff. Convenient for quick viewing at 10-15 mins per ep.
May 14 - Underground Railroad (Amazon)
May 16 - Death and Nightingales (Starz) - Great cast, three part mini-series.
May 27 - Eden (Netflix) - Maybe, we'll see.

Hi has anybody seen this Netflix show called Why Are You Like This?

It's an Australian sitcom and it's kind of wild, far left satire? I like many things about it but I feel like many people will hate it lol

Just watched the pilot of Girls5eva on Peacock, definitely has some of that 30 Rock DNA. Thought it was pretty funny, better than Mr. Mayor.

Watched the 1st episode of That Damn Michael Che on HBO Max and thought it was pretty funny as well.

I watched this Turkish show Fatma on Netflix. 6 episodes, about 40 minutes each, very brisk binge.

Its a thriller about this woman Fatma searching for her missing husband and then it goes different places. At its core, its a story about trauma and I think the show does a good job at showing how Fatma has suffered from the actions of terrible men in her life. Its very cathartic to see how she goes from meek cleaner to...someone else over the span of 6 episodes, and its all thanks to the lead actress' performance.

It's not a perfect show, but it is interesting and a hidden gem among Netflix's vast catalog. If you're in the mood for an interesting thriller, I'd recommend it.

I've been watching the four-part series The Ripper on Netflix. Very interesting stuff. It's about one of the largest manhunts in Britain's history, for the serial killer dubbed The Yorkshire Ripper in the late 70's. This predates the use of computers, and no internet of course, and the investigation yielded such massive amounts of paper being filed they had to reinforce the structure underneath the incident room. The investigation was poorly handled too. The scale of it was absolutely immense. It resulted in a nationwide march from women outraged that they were being advised by police to not go out alone after dark.

Quiet thread. People must be watching something?

I saw Capitani on Netflix this past week. Crime drama from Luxembourg. Pros: short at 12 eps 30 mins each, and unlike many say Nordic crime dramas it was all shot in bright daylight in a small village and some woods. The payoff at the end wasn't worth it though. Overall, meh.

I started Extra-Curricular last night, also Netflix. Korean show about a high school kid running a secret side business. Some dark humor in there, which I like to see.

The premiere of Mr. Inbetween was fantastic. Can't believe how slept-on that show is.

And that Dave "trailer" that aired during i? Yo.

I want to create threads for both shows but I feel like I'll be the only person posting in them…

Nice, Ragnarok season 2 just dropped on Netflix. I'll start that in coming days. First season didn't get many mentions, but I liked it, as a different take on the superhero genre.

Plowed through all of the second season of this in a day.

I really enjoyed the first season, but I felt like this one was kinda off in places.

It's kinda weird the extent to which Laurits sticks to the Jutuls despite them repeatedly trying to kill him. Like I know the kid is lonely but I think they overdid that.

Was hoping for more follow-up on Laurits injecting himself with Odin's blood.

Everything with the Midgard Serpent was some What The Actual Fuck material. I assume they're not going to try to find a way to include that Loki is also the mother of Odin's horse. 😂

Still enjoyed it a lot overall. It's one of those shows where I don't consider it amazing quality or anything, but I personally just really enjoy it.

Need to re-subscribe to HBO Nordic to watch the new season of Mr. Inbetween, completely blanked on it releasing now! First two seasons were damn good.

Finished up Black Lady Sketch Show last night. A few funny sketches overall, but I wasn't feeling this season too much. I don't think I will come back for Season 3.

Somehow, the curmudgeonly feelings "old people" shows like Kominsky Method arouse in me make me feel more guilty than the curmudgeonly feelings more "youth-oriented" shows do.

Watched the first 6 episodes of Hacks today.

I enjoyed it quite a bit. For her first real big acting project, Einbinder is wonderfully charismatic as Ava. In the wrong hands, the character could come across as an abrasive unapologetic fuck-up, but Einbinder and the writing team do a great job of going beyond just that. Jean Smart also does a wonderful job as Deborah Vance, and the 6 episodes do a good job of selling the growing relationship between Ava and Deborah. I do wish the side characters got as much time & development as the two leads since folks like Marcus and Kiki seem interesting to spend time with. Special shoutout to the show's music supervisor because there are some nice musical moments in here.

All in all, its a fun time. I think there's 4 more episodes left in the season so hopefully it sticks the landing.

Nice, Ragnarok season 2 just dropped on Netflix. I'll start that in coming days. First season didn't get many mentions, but I liked it, as a different take on the superhero genre.

Wife and I binge-watch the show when it drops. It's a show that I find to be kind of funny in a sort of unintentional way, but I mean it positively. It's very entertaining, with some cheese and some goofy moments. But it's also still a compelling story, and I'm excited to keep watching. It's also made me more interested in learning more about Norse mythology, even though we've got it in a number of games and other media, I still haven't read or learned much about it.

One thing I've really appreciated about this show, since you brought up actual Norse mythology, is that Laurits/Loki has no regard for gender norms.

Loki in mythology is a shapeshifter that mothered (not fathered) multiple notable creatures. So it was nice to see the show take advantage of modern culture having some queer characters in television and cross that with some of what Loki gets up to in the myths.

Yeah, that was an interesting aspect, since I've never seen other media depict Loki that way
