Just did a quick skim, thank you as always RatskyWatsky, but Servant on the 19th must be a typo right? Season 2 started in January, March 19th should be the finale.

The Flash - Season 7 (The CW) I wanted to drop this show last year but the cut production due to the pandemic left season 6 hanging with the storyline finally concluding in season 7, while starting a new arc. My expectation are rock bottom but we'll see how it goes.

Superstore - Season 6 (NBC) This show is ending at the end of March, and while it's sudden, I still hope they go out on a high. With how things are looking right now, though, it might just be a rushed finale.

Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist - Season 2 (NBC) I am so glad I'm all caught up now with this show. Season 2 has been alright so far but it wasn't going to reach the emotional highs of season 1. It's still enjoyable enough to watch though.

Aside from those shows, I'm still trucking along with black-ish (ABC), grown-ish (Freeform), Mr. Mayor (NBC), and Nadiya Bakes (Netflix).

Plan to watch:
  • Pennyworth - super underrated show.
  • The Falcon and the Winter Soldier - I'm still stuck on the Marvel train with everyone else.
  • Sky Rojo - Money Heist cred will seemingly always get my attention.

Keeping my ear to the ground for:
  • Pacific Rim: The Black - love the original, would love for it to get a worthy follow up.
  • Debris - Fringe 2.0 is definitely something I would be down for.
  • The Irregulars - either the dumbest of ideas or the very best.

Thanks for the OP, Ratsky.

Recent highlights for me have been Men in Kilts and RESET: The Unauthorized Guide To Video Games. I'm also a couple eps in to Warrior S2.

Few standouts for me this month. We'll get to WV, Falcon and Loki when we briefly re-sub to Disney in late summer. Hopefully Epix will have a Pennyworth marathon during a free weekend, the first season was excellent.

1st Debris - the most interesting to me, but NBC and anything sci-fi doesn't sound like a combo that's likely to survive long.
21st Doctor Who: Fury from the Deep.
24th Who Killed Sara?
26th The Irregulars - period plus supernatural, sure.
28th City on a Hill - not a terribly original show, but Kevin Bacon is excellent in it.

On the maybe if reviews are good and I have time list:

19th Sky Rojo - "from the makers of Money Heist" sounds promising.
21st The Gloaming - crime thriller with maybe some supernatural, sure.
26th Invincible.

Current rotation will continue. Wife and I watch about about an hour of television together each night after the baby goes down.

"A" night - drama
- 1 episode of The Americans
- will replace with 1 episode of Justified once we finish

"B" night - sitcoms
- 1 episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm
- 1 episode of TBD (just caught up on Always Sunny)

"New shows" night - as episodes drop
- WandaVision
- The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
- possible 1 sitcom episode depending on other episode duration

Saturday is movie night. If movie is long might watch half Saturday night and half Sunday night, but we try to avoid that if possible.

If you have HBO Max, I encourage you check out Banshee which is on there this week I think. Some similarities to Justified format, and it stars the Homelander guy. And for your comedy, have you seen What We Do In The Shadows? There's a movie and then two seasons of hilarity. It's about mostly inept vampires living in current day NY area.

I really want to finish Justified. We got through season 3 before my wife decided she was getting tired of it and wanted to try something else. We were supposed to switch between Justified and Americans seasons as we went, but The Americans is admittedly more compelling to keep watching after a season ends.

Will check out the sitcom. I've seen the movie and liked it, but it might be too weird/nerdy for my wife to find funny. We also have another season of Eastbound and Down and 1-2 of Modern Family to get through.

I'm excited for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Invincible, and The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers.

Been watching the DC CW shows since the beginning and while I'm pretty burnt out at this point I'm still sticking with The Flash for now and want to check out Superman & Lois. Also interested in Pacific Rim: The Black and DOTA: Dragon's Blood.

I don't watch many NBC shows anymore, especially since cutting cable but might be interested in Debris and have wanted to check out Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist.

Playing with Power might be fun.
Invincible - I'll give it a try, although I don't see what the big deal is about it.
Maybe Debris to see how fast a broadcast procedural can be cancelled.
Will probably watch Falcon and Winter Soldier over the summer.

Most excited for Invincible. Not a lot of stand out new shows, but a few things that may be interesting. HBO really likes their teen social dramas.

Wasn't throwing shade, this is probably the most important thread on the forum for me. It's literally the only way I know what to watch each month! Last year you had Cake season 3 on one of the monthly lists really soon after season 2 ended which seemed wild to me but was accurate! Easy to crank out an anthology show, I guess, so I wasn't sure this time. Especially since Apple is doing weird 2 season renewals and honestly most of S2 of Servant has been wheel-spinning, so I got optimistic for a quick turnaround. It's basically one set and 4(ish) actors! ANYWAY!

Light month.

Monday, 1
Playing with Power: The Nintendo Story - Crackle
I can't imagine this being any good, the trailer was quite basic, but I will check out anything Nintendo. Wish there was a way to watch it without commercials. Also Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment's streaming service, huh? OK. Can't remember the last time I used Crackle. Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee? But even then I'd watch it on the CiCGC website, not Crackle's. Shrug.

Debris - NBC - 10/9c
JH Wyman. Bring back Almost Human.

Sunday, 7
(Vice - Showtime - 8/7c)
Not going to subscribe to Showtime, but definitely want to keep up with this. Need to see if there's a way to do that legally. Otherwise I'll just stick to Vice News Tonight, I guess.

Thursday, 11
Cake - FXX - 10/9c
This has been a solid little anthology series. Wonder what the main "mini-show" that runs through this season will be.

Friday, 19
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier - Disney+
Meh. Contractual obligations.

Sunday, 21
(Line of Duty - BBC One)
The first 3 seasons of this, which aired on AMC, were awesome. It's a more serious, British version of 24 without the real time conceit and an "internal affairs" focus. I don't have a ton of interest in subscribing to Acorn to watch series 4, 5, or this new one, so I'll need to figure out an alternative arrangement. Maybe they've got a free month promo or something I can use when the season ends. I think the code AMC still works?

Monday, 22
Breeders - FX - 10/9c
First season was not bad.

Friday, 26
Invincible - Amazon
Don't know anything about this and the trailers haven't been great. I've heard it goes some unexpected places, so I'll check it out.

Solar Opposites - Hulu
It's Rick and Morty.

STREAMING PREMIERE MOVIES!
Coming 2 America
Godzilla vs Kong
Others I can't remember? one which may be 4 hours long ughhhhhhhh whyyyyyyyyyyyy

Still using my 3-month Sky ticket to the max and finally started Mayans M.C. - Love it just as much as Sons of Anarchy. It's just so easy to watch with fast pacing and twists and turns on every corner with the right amount of action and cheesiness. Angel and Ez are great leads. Also, fun to see some old SoA characters cameos. Too bad season 3 premier in Germany still has no date and my ticket expires mid-march anyway. But I will resub someday and catch up. So many shows and subs, so there is no hurry.

Cross-post from the Hilda thread:

I finally finished watching Hilda season two. I must say I'm thoroughly impressed. I really liked the music this season and how there are at least one featured song per episode. It was very neat. The pacing was noticeably different than season 1, with each episode a bit less self-contained than before, but it made for some wonderful moments.

A note about the ending:
Not sure about that cliffhanger, though. As nothing was confirmed about a third season – and even if we get one, when will it drop, in two/three years? – I don't think it was necessary. I think it would have been better to end the season with an open ending instead of a full-blown cliffhanger like that. But it's a very small complaint.

One think I absolutely LOVE about this show is how women are present in every aspect of society. Doesn't matter what kind of group they're showing you – pirates, vikings, sailors, guards... – each time there are capable women in these groups and it's not a big deal. It's never questioned or highlighted, it's just normal. If I had a young daughter this is exactly the kind of show I would introduce her to. Well done!

Also, Bella Ramsey has such a nice voice:

The Investigation (Efterforskningen), a perfect TV show, ended tonight. Please check it out if you haven't. The full series is only six episodes and is streaming on HBO Max.

I agree with everything you've written here. It's deservedly getting five stars from me the next time I update my show count in the 52 seasons thread.

Thank you very much for this monthly thread, it helps me keep track of some upcoming shows.

Also, Line of Duty, finally!

Really starting to dig Jujutsu Kaisen, has a lot of the elements I really dig about anime.

Getting back into Farscape as well, going to try and finish Season 1 at least before the month is up.

I'm near the end of S2. It's a great show. I'm not a big F1 fan, but it's still great seeing all the behind the scenes footage, and the amazing race scenes too. Maybe it's in the final eps of S2, however I'm disappointed by the relative absence of Lewis Hamilton and the Mercedes team. Seems like multiple other teams were giving more access.

I've never watched a minute of an F1 race, but since S1 I've enjoyed this show. I'm not 100% for sure why, but I enjoyed S1 considerably more than S2. I think it had to do with the drama of being associated with the struggling/mediocre teams makes it more interesting to me. S2 seemed to spread around the storylines a bit more.

I didn't know Geri Spice Girl is married to that team director. That was funny her explaining how much harder her job is than his, and he was giving this face, haha.

Finally finished watching Farscape Season 1 via Amazon Prime Video. 22 episodes is a lot, but by the end of the season you really do get bonded with the crew. A lot of weird looking alien creatures on the show (not always my favorite), but I got used to it by the end. Rigel is definitely the funniest of the crew. Farscape does a lot with the concept of a living ship which is something I haven't seen a ton of in sci-fi. I do plan to eventually finish the entire series, but will probably take a break for now and catch up on some other shows.

Beartown on HBO was good. It's from Sweden, and short at just five episodes. It's set in a small town with a big focus on youth hockey.

Netflix didn't really have anything exciting the last couple of months so I''ve been rewatching The Office on Prime. The first season was rough but luckily it was short. I'm on season 3 now and it's been fantastisic so far.

Have you seen the original and its specials? Also, After Life from Ricky Jervais on Netflix is excellent.

I thought it was solid too, though the final episode was a little hokey. Didn't really stick the landing. The Investigation was the stronger of HBO's recent slate of Nordic shows.

Yeah it seemed a little rushed at the end. Apparently there's a second book. I've been listening to "Forever Young" a lot since seeing the show. That was a harrowing scene in there. It's jarring to hear such a beloved song used like that.
