No one who commits and is formally accused of murder should be allowed bail. It's not fair to the grieving families. Manslaughter is one thing, but this is two counts of homicide and four other violent charges. This is a vigilante who responded to protestors assaulting him with multiple murders. Clearly very different from someone terrified for their life and acting solely in self-defense. This is malicious and way beyond the minimum level of force needed to subdue threats.

Bail is a guarantee that he doesn't run away right?. So what happens when he is found not guilty (or even guilty). I assume that money is returned to him? I also assume he is then under no obligation to return it to the people who donated it right?

If he shows up at court, the bail money goes back to who paid for it.

The money is returned to the people who posted bail which seem to be his attorneys as long as he shows up to court.

This is why imperatives like "please be nice to the sad trump supporters that just lost their god-king-emperor-ruler" are meaningless.

I would've said Americans are selfish, but clearly they're willing to band together to give money for a cause and get...seemingly nothing in return?

The only thing stopping half of America from shooting the other half is the fear of going to jail. This little shit is a hero to them.

what is the rhetoric of Trumpers that this was justified? is it that because one of the three protestors he shot was armed, it was fair game to fire at a whole bunch of people?

From what I was able to get out of one, Rittenhouse was just a law-abiding citizen who was patrolling with a loaded gun during a riot to try to protect businesses and homes and it was totally legal for him to defend himself when he felt threatened.

Any time I tried to point out the many flaws in that they just kept telling me it's the law and that's all that matters.

Welp, there we go. A literal murderer is going to grift until the end of time, and all these far-right chuds will gladly enable him since he did what they desperately wish they could do

these people are evil and very proud of it, calling them nazis like the ones from Germany in the 30s/40s sure fits them well.

Which incident is the most damming? Anytime i look for footage on Google I always get the same "self defense" bs that makes me so mad i just give up looking for something damming the prosecution will use.
The second incident he was in a much more vulnerable position so it's easier for an attorney to get by on self defence where the first incident won't be nearly as easy.

If they try them as two disconnected events the second event would be harder to prosecute. If they pair them which they should as they are tied together, it would be much harder to argue a self defence claim when It can be argued the victims of the second incident were attempting to subdue a violent offender.

What the fucking fuck is fucking wrong with your fucking country?

I don't pretend to live in a perfect society, but the US seems to be destroyed to the point of literally no return. The insanity on display is just inconceivable. Full on insanity.

If some fuckwit shot people here, there's simply no way at all he be out getting a sponsorship with people proudly parading him in front of their business. The posession of a firearm alone would make sure of that, let alone the tiny issue of MURDERING people. (People still get shot here, but it's 99.9% related to fuckwit gangs shooting other fuckwit gangs, that our useless government time and time again fail to eradicate by being too soft).

This is by design. The country was built on this. It's nothing new that white people can get away with literal murder.

Why am I not surprised that Ricky Schroeder grew up to be a right wing shitheel? I guess the actually surprising part is that he had money left.

Gotcha. Is there footage of the first event in full? I would feel much more comfortable knowing they can show he wasn't acting in self defense with his first victim.
