That kind of mentality is exactly why people don't hold others accountable.
It's not a bribe because it's not a bribe.
Unless we are to think every member of the House Impeachment Management team has also bribed Democratic Senators, as every single one has engaged in fundraising activities for members of the Senate.
That's a naive point of view. Do you think Trump would have done this, at this exact time if he wasn't up for impeachment trial? He knows exactly what he's doing.

Trump didn't do anything. Rich conservative lawyers contributed to prominent conservative senators. Just like these exact same people do every year.

Agree with this. A couple thousand in donations made before the trial aren't the bribes we need to be looking out for.
Actually, little sums can be indicators of intent that "more is coming if you do XYZ".
Did we forget he was already taking them to dinner, sporting events and hosting parties to curry their favor before this? They're transparent as fuck and know nothing will be done about it.
