It's not a bribe because it's not a bribe.

Unless we are to think every member of the House Impeachment Management team has also bribed Democratic Senators, as every single one has engaged in fundraising activities for members of the Senate.

That's a naive point of view. Do you think Trump would have done this, at this exact time if he wasn't up for impeachment trial? He knows exactly what he's doing.

Mitch McConnell is protecting the Republican president because it would be disastrous for his party, his power, and the policies he wants passed if Trump gets removed. not for five thousand dollars. He would do it for negative five thousand dollars.

This is silly. Conservatives months ago gave contributions to conservative senators. A senator isn't being bought for 5k to their campaign, and these donations had nothing to do with impeachment.

When you want to bribe a senator, you slip him a briefcase with 500k inside.

There is enough actual corruption on the right that we don't need to reach for examples.

Agree with this. A couple thousand in donations made before the trial aren't the bribes we need to be looking out for.

The writers of this story are really getting lazy...

For real this, how's this garbage so transparent yet legal/allowed? How is this not a clear conflict when you're literally getting money.

Did we forget he was already taking them to dinner, sporting events and hosting parties to curry their favor before this? They're transparent as fuck and know nothing will be done about it.

Oh, and they're doing it to keep their jobs, not for a measly couple thousand.
