Trump hasn't got the humility to quit on his own, however, convicting him the senate would likely send him running to Russia ASAP.

The white house tweeted out talking points, then attempted to recall them since it made their position even worse. If Fox News sticks to the predetermined talking points it makes it obvious they're just shilling for Trump and the illusion of them being unbiased is destroyed.

Yeah . . . the talking points are meant for the talking-head representatives that go onto those shows. Of course, Fox basically is one big talking head for Trump--but like BassForever says, Fox wants to hide this fact.
Earlier today the white house accidentally sent talking points on how to spin the Ukraine situation to Republicans... AND democrats, then tried to ask for them back. The panelists in the video seem to be upset because the guy maybe accuses them of using the same talking points.
Maybe we can get the Russians to make their version first. That'd be better for a laugh, probably.

I don't get why the press is so obsessed that this is fine as long as it wasn't a quid-pro-quo. It seems like the president using the power of the office to have anyone investigate political opponents is a scandal. Am I nuts or something?
In the unlikely scenario that Senate republicans actually convict Trump, Pence would be going down with him regardless. He doesn't need to rope Pence in. If Trump goes, they necessarily all go.

Why would Republican senators remove Pence? They can do whatever the hell they want, and there's no way they'll roll with a President Pelosi scenario of they decide to remove Trump.

Agreed. As much as I'd like to be optimistic about the outcome of this latest scandal, the last three years have really beaten any optimism out of me. This feels like at least the 10th occurrence of "This is it! It's over!" My only feeling is exhaustion at this point.
Pence reminds me of my ex's grandfather. Nutjob evangelical type who disguises his awfulness behind the veneer of 'enlightenment' and his wife made them get rid of cable and radio because she was concerned he enjoyed pop stars too much. The wife is a nice woman who was going through some mental health issues, though. Just funny to me at the time. Unfortunately for the granddad you can't pills-and-therapy being an asshole.

We had someone who was busted for running an international pedophile ring that might be link to at least one President of the United States die just before thing go on trial. Now 6 weeks later, barely anyone talks about it. I remember how HUGE this was supposed to be.

Please don't get your hopes up about a senate conviction. It's not going to happen. He could eat a baby live on camera and the republicans would start attacking the credibility and character of the baby. Republicans still in office now are not normal human beings, they lack the standard parts that most of us have.
