This feels so dirty. Has anything like this ever happened before?

I'd like to thanks Trump for showing us how broken our system actually. The executive branch has far too much power.

Its nice to see gerrymandering being challenged across the country at the state level but if we want to safeguard against future corruption of power....

we have a fucking mountain to climb and the GOP has roadblocks everywhere in the courts all the way up to the stolen Supreme Court seats

We are so fucked

Who's going to hold them accountable?
The Supreme Court that they control?
The Senate that enabled this behavior?
The House whose subpoenas they can simply ignore?

Trump is showing us how executive privilege can be used to obstruct justice.

Take notes law students and aspiring mobsters!

So, when do the unredacted copies of the report and all the evidence get anonymously mailed to all the news outlets?

The man at the center of the investigation should not be able to do this.

I think this is a mistake on his part.

He was given a chance earlier to invoke executive privilege on any part of the report.

I don't think you can just do it afterwards because you don't want it out.

Besides like 90% of it is public already, makes no sense to do the whole thing.

The Justice Department is literally colluding with the President.

At this point, I'm shocked Mueller even got any work done.

What a fucking joke of a nation we have. Then again, even the founding fathers never had faith it would last in the first place, hence why they built it with gentlemen's agreements and vague wording.

This is almost getting too blatant. I almost wonder if he isn't doing a play of baiting congress into flexing their arm, only for the report to not contain any more damning information, just so that he can shed a bit of his authoritarianism (at least in the eyes of the republicans) onto the democrats. Probably not the case, but who the hell knows anymore.

So what are the options for the Democrats moving forward? Can they take this to court or is it simply a done deal?

It goes to court, where it'll take awhile to move through the system.

Trump is just stalling until he either loses in 2020, or the Democrats lose control of the House, he's probably betting on the latter, although that's not really likely based on historical trends.

Breaking news: Trump shoots a man in broad daylight on Fifth Avenue. Dems threaten to maybe do something.

Would set a bad precedent if the rich white president could be touched by the law....can't have that in the US.

So lemme guess

- a few articles bashing Trump
- Mitch McConnell making some statements supporting Trump action to do this
- Dems bashing Trump but still don't push for impeachment
- a couple articles showing a slight drop in approval ratings
- Public forgets in 2 weeks

Rinse and repeat
