Well, the first "unlocalized" game will receive a fan edit patch in a few weeks (they at 90% edited, but they need to review the entire script), so you can always buy the PC version legally and patch it.I feel the need to preorder for all the bonus stuff, but having never touched the series(outside Sky 1) and hearing there are at least 2 unlocalized games between this and Steel 2??
Gah.....
the two unlocalized games are Trails of Zero and Trails of Ao which make up the Crossbell arc. They actually released before CS1 and 2, but the events of Crossbell and the events of CS1 and 2 are happening at the same time.I feel the need to preorder for all the bonus stuff, but having never touched the series(outside Sky 1) and hearing there are at least 2 unlocalized games between this and Steel 2??

Looking forward to getting to this in 2021 (seriously). I've beaten or nearly beaten Sky FC/Sky SC/ToCS I basically in the past year. I think I'm going to play no more of the games this year so that I don't burn out. I plan to play Sky TC/Zero/TocS II next year.
Hopefully a better translation for Ao comes out by 2021...
Hopefully next year but I doubt it
Yep - hopefully I'll have Ao/CS3/CS4 for 2021. Between the Kiseki series and Yakuza series and the amount of entries I have yet to play in each series, I'm probably set for games for the next couple of years haha.
Me too.
Eh
I thought that Falcom owns the translation, in fact NISA uses all the same localization decisions (which makes sense), and it wouldn't surprise me that the recaps of CS I chapters on the NISA CS III website were taken from CS II directly. But I guess there we have the problem that Xseed did the translation and NISA is the one with the money for a Switch port, cause Falcom is still so weirdly apprehensive about doing or funding Switch ports themselves.
I just assume XSeed would still have some say in that because they are also the ones that handled the PS4 versions CS1 and 2 even after Falcom started having those deals with NISA, but maybe I'm wrong.I thought that Falcom owns the translation, in fact NISA uses all the same localization decisions (which makes sense), and it wouldn't surprise me that the recaps of CS I chapters on the NISA CS III website were taken from CS II directly.
A few weeks? That's not very likely.Well, the first "unlocalized" game will receive a fan edit patch in a few weeks (they at 90% edited, but they need to review the entire script), so you can always buy the PC version legally and patch it.
If you want to wait for the official localization, it will be a long wait, as the games may be ported to modern hardware and localized, but this will take at least a few years.
With a few weeks I mean 4-5 months.
Yeah that makes sense. Who knows, maybe it was a "consolation prize" from Falcom after losing both Ys and Kiseki. Or NISA was busy with CS III and the best for both parties was to release CS I and II before III.I just assume XSeed would still have some say in that because they are also the ones that handled the PS4 versions CS1 and 2 even after Falcom started having those deals with NISA, but maybe I'm wrong.
I feel like if you aren't already a fan of this series then these trailers aren't likely to interest you. It's kinda unfortunate they don't have a way to package these games to outsiders. For whatever reason the more I see of the game the more my interest wanes. I'm sure I'll still enjoy the game but most of the trailers they've released so far have done nothing for me.
XSEED has no say in any of it. DotEmu did the console ports of Ys Origin and used XSEED's localization without their input at all because all of the scripts belong to Falcom.I just assume XSeed would still have some say in that because they are also the ones that handled the PS4 versions CS1 and 2 even after Falcom started having those deals with NISA, but maybe I'm wrong.
Is Trails in the Sky the best selling one? It's been on sale a million times by now so I'd have to imagine that it is. This would be my dream scenario though. Have them build up from the start of the series on Switch. If it catches on and gets a following, great. If not then it wasn't meant to be. Good thing about that is that it can potentially have all the nice new features that the Steam version got patched in over the years.Having a nice Port of Trails in the Sky on Switch would be really nice
They're already available on the Vita thoI was super excited to play this after playing ToCS 1&2 on Vita, but after hearing that 3 relates on the Crossbell games and wouldn't make sense without playing those, has killed any interest I have in the series now. Not impressed with this bad direction decision. I they were going to do this, they should have released the Crossbell games on PS4 along with ToCS 1&2
CS3 will make sense, it'll just spoil pretty much everything about the Crossbell games.I was super excited to play this after playing ToCS 1&2 on Vita, but after hearing that 3 relates on the Crossbell games and wouldn't make sense without playing those, has killed any interest I have in the series now. lol, pointless is a strong word.Interesting. I've heard it was pointless to bother playing without the background of the other games.
It's a good rule to never trust super fans of a series about how essential it is to experience everything in it.Interesting. I've heard it was pointless to bother playing without the background of the other games.
