"Our commitment to compatibility means existing Xbox One games, including backward-compatible Xbox 360 and original Xbox games, look and play better than ever before," Spencer says. "Your favorite games, including titles in Xbox Game Pass, benefit from steadier framerates, faster load times and improved resolution and visual fidelity – all with no developer work required. Your Xbox One gaming accessories also come forward with you."
Some of you motherfuckers need to calm down and read/listen to what was said.
They only tested the top 100 games, not only the top 100 games will be suported.
Almost all of them worked initially. A few didn't.
Everyone over here acting like Sony said only 80 games will be BC. Jesus people pay attention.
I have lots of smaller japanese games like 425 Shibuya Scramble or The Nonary Games and lots of indies which - according to Sony - need to be tested first. And I don't trust that every game in my library carries over to PS5. The big games, sure, but my library is larger than that. What games are you playing on your PS4 Pro that won't likely be played on PS5?
No, they tested 100 games, not only 100 games available.
They really gonna make me buy TLOUR and TLOU2R a whole gen later huh
This is weird.
The console design is compromised due BC and at the same time BC is being compromised and not at all what was expected.
Something obviously went very wrong. Hard to believe that this is the scenario they wanted.
For X360 games it was game-by-gameFor comparison, how does Microsoft handle this? It's also on a game-by-game basis right?
Without any enhancements though
We don't know about PS1-3 BC, could be conformed for another reveal. So no Ps1-3 and not even fully BC for Ps4.
What are you doing Sony, how can you fuck this up so hard
seriously, when people want to play PS4 games on the PS5...maybe just let the PS4 connected to the TV and you can play all PS4 games you want...who is buying a new console to play old games?
did anybody scream at Nintendo why you can´t play Wii U games on the Switch? no, they are happily buying these ports
I think the concern comes from Sony's track record when it comes to "a case by case basis" and approval for legacy title support. We might see strong initial support, but if the demand isn't there, they might abandon compatibility updates all together. Some of you motherfuckers need to calm down and read/listen to what was said.

Yeah, I'm a bit confused. Also assuming that legacy mode caps the system, shouldn't every game work? The "legacy modes" make me worried that BC will come with zero enhancements, just 1:1 how they play on native ps4/pro

No, you read. The column for CECHA/CECHB is the original, hardware based 20GB/60gb NTSC models. That's for the software-based versions. Did you read the other guy's comment? He was talking about launch consoles, which were 100% compatible. They had PS2 hardware built in.
Their approach couldn't be any more different than Xbox's, its night and day. Have to say I'm a little disappointed.
Did they say if any of their BC titles will get any enhancements at all?
We don't know about PS1-3 BC, could be conformed for another reveal.
Also, they stated they tested the top 100 games on PS5 previously and they run well, does t mean all other titles are automatically out.
can someone fill me in on what they mean by the system being too fast?
No ...
