Yeah, super loud, then after that, it says "unsupported disc" but still lets me start the game from the disc. Odd.
Mine does it with any disc. It's the drive itself.
Every time it spins I worry it's gonna become a PS4 Pro jet engine, but it stops after a few seconds.
I hope Sony gets the current, shitty build quality and coil whine under control. After the abysmal PS4 Pro I'm not suffering another piece of shit Sony console. I'm not even interested in buying a PS5 if I could, until they sort this shit out. Consoles are supposed to be trouble-free, little gaming machines. These recent machines are fucking awful.
The Disc edition is super quiet as well. Unless you play a disc game where it literally just revs up once every ... 30 or 60 minutes to verify the disc, and it does so for like 10 seconds and then it's back to being quiet.
PS3 slim was an absolute tank. I've only now started having trouble with my disc drive and I think it's just a worn out belt.Same. It's crazy.
They've never been this, especially since the 360 era.
You've heard theirs?
Has Sony even commented on Why this happen s?It is loud. Calms down in like 15 seconds, but it definitely revs up for a bit there. Seems to rev up for 15 seconds every 45 min or so even if you're playing a digital game, it's bizarre
Here's mine.
Same noise whether it's vertical or horizontal. I've also put foam pads under the stand so the vibrations are contained within the console.
Let's just say outside of big release where I can save a significant amount on money on physical, I'll mostly be sticking to digital games this gen.
It's because the system checks if there's still a disk still inserted. Why does the PS5 spin up once every 45 minutes? Is it some kind of DRM? Because isnt that what Xbox One team got roasted for wanting to do in 2013?
Or is this something else?
They all are. My Series X shakes my entire desk when it's installing a game (vertical).

I get that, but I was wondering if its DRM related. Guess it has to be, why else would it do it?It's because the system checks if there's still a disk still inserted.
