Greta has "triggered" The Donald's snowflakes in their safe space.
I wish Reddit would just get rid of them, already.

-------
Time going for the diverse route no surprise they pick the retard with fetal alcohol syndrome.
-
The power of youth, plus government funded scientists, wealthy foundations, socialists, big Wall Street money, corrupt politicians, biased non-objective media, ideologically driven school curricula, emotion driven group think, doomsday cults. Did I miss any?
-
Hey, let's make a brainwashed, unintelligent little girl with no life experiences as "person of the year". The Times is the fakest of fake news.
-
How fitting that a climate Nazi wins, after all Adolph himself won in 1938. Heck even Stalin won twice.
-
Saint Greta the Climate Goblin joins other historical figures like Bathhouse Barry, Joseph Stalin, and Adolf Hitler among the elite ranks of Time's person of the year.
Eyeroll.

This is great, and well deserved. She does have a big impact on perception of climate change, so there's no better choice.

I look forward to the inevitable (and ironic) outrage by the Murdoch press around the world.

They could make it the protestor and include the Chileans. They are people who are dying right now

Probably the first person diagnosed with ASD to be Person of the Year.

Big win for disabled people.

notably absent from that list: Donald Trump.

You can be Person of the Year by being shit, too.
Not to mention George W. Bush (twice), Rudy Giuliani, Vladimir Putin, Newt Gingrich, Ronald Reagan (twice), Ayatollah Khomeini, Richard Nixon (twice)... the list goes on.

It says nothing of the character of the people or things chosen. Only that they were the most influential.

Great choice. To save our planet is the most important thing.

There are people who wait for Great Thunberg to make one single mistake so they can make fun of her...

Right wingers being so threatened over Greta is always hilarious.

What exactly is their problem with her again?

I know very little about her, but I've heard overwhelmingly good things. Pretty cool achievement - nice to see it go to someone with a positive message instead of a dirtbag if only because the world is filled with dirtbags nowadays.

With the effects of climate change beginning to effect even the developed world, it's nice to give her due.

And yes while she would prefer people to do something about it rather than give her an award, it's still important to spread her message to others.

I have to wonder if she's okay with how they print and distribute 26 million copies of Time magazine weekly.

Does she chastise them in the article for not being a completely digital publication?

Y'know in hindsight she makes the most sense as POTY this year. The level of vitriol she's attracted worldwide just for telling world leaders to get their shit together is obnoxiously intense, and he just weaves past the punches while continuing to pressure herself. That in itself makes her a hugely inspirational figure, but her message has been on point especially as we continue to see the state of the environment worsen.

Nice, well deserved.

I thought maybe they'd go with a group 'Person' like they have a handful of times in the past and go with, like, 'The Whistleblowers' but glad to see an actual individual person be recognized again.

Should she be pissed a bunch a trees are going to be chopped down to put her likeness on a magazine cover?

be careful, hot takes like this one might just melt the arctic permafrost
