Does the Switch ever progress past bringing up the power menu if you hold the button longer? What's the last console that doesn't do this? Genuine question.
Yes, it shuts down.Does the Switch ever progress past bringing up the power menu if you hold the button longer?
Ah, okay. I haven't bothered since if I'm by the power button, I can use the screen. I'm not sure if there's ever been a console you can't turn off that way then.
I'll be honest with, I have no idea where the ps4 power button is at any given time.
I hold down the power button for a bit because that makes sense on mobile devicesHonest question... How do you turn off your mobile phone (granted, you won't need to do that to often). Do you run Aida64 to drain the battery or something?
Didn't it always tell you not to do that?
I just unplugged it
Edit: just to be clear: I unplugged my PS2, not the PS4
Yeah, I'm not buying any physical games for starters. If you're confused, I'm sure PS5 will be designed around this and not make it confusing.
Yeah, exactly. This was my first thought.
I still confuse the power and eject buttons.
Sometimes I want to switch Anthem with MK11 and end up turning off the PS4 instead.
Bought the damn thing in late 2015, mind you.
You can.
It works fine from rest mode. What sucks is not being able to do this from rest mode, since it'll give a "your PS4 wasn't turned off properly" message next time.
If I could only figure out which one was the power button. Always hitting eject...
This would be helpful if I could ever figure out which one is the power button and which one is the disk eject.
Some people never had been able to shut off electronics before.

I'm assuming you could just press the button and then hold it downWhat sucks is not being able to do this from rest mode, since it'll give a "your PS4 wasn't turned off properly" message next time.

EDIT: there's even a power switch on the back of the console, jesus christ man use THAT instead
But there was a power button, with a light on it.Not knowing goes back several generations.
It has become pretty standard on most recent consoles. Not sure about Xbox consoles. Wii, Wii U, PS4 all have standby modes, that you can turn off by holding the button longer.
Not on the slim PS2.
Yeah but you have to hold it to turn the console off

And the thought never crossed your mind to hold it down? It's even in the instructions manual. I mean, I'm just amazed, sorry.
No, because my PSX didn't need thatAnd the thought never crossed your mind to hold it down? It's even in the instructions manual. I mean, I'm just amazed, sorry.
