Not really. It's owned by Koch Media. They operate separately even tho they own DS.
Most of the confusion comes because there's actually two THQ Nordics.

THQ Nordic GmbH is the one who happily engaged a community of homophobes, racists, pedophiles, and violent extremists. It's a publisher based in Austria, and their development and marketing directors both took part.

THQ Nordic AB is the parent company, based in Sweden. It's just some rich guy who owns a lot of stuff (including Koch Media and THQ Nordic GmbH). Didn't really have anything to do with it, except acting the fool and sweeping the whole thing under the rug after the fact.

Shame they are not presenting these at E3 so we can boo them back to Austria. Give a proper apology and fire the marketing director now!

This is a pretty minor detail in this whole event, but there was an image posted on the AMA of a guy with a giant iron cross, which accompanied a request to have an anti-ResetEra easter egg in all of THQ Nordic's games. I was curious as to what the significance of this guy was and the image name, visible in the screenshot, seemed to be a name.

So I looked it up, and was confused why I wasn't getting any results. Then it occurred to me. The image was named hans_judenjaeger.jpg. Juden is the plural of Jude, meaning "Jewish person" or "Jewish man". Jaeger or Jäger is a hunter. The image was effectively titled "Johnny Jewhunter".

Not that they were hiding that that they were Nazi sympathizers or that I wasn't expecting to find something horrible, but nice reminder of the type of people THQ was trying to appeal to, anyway. And again, the company is headquartered in Austria, so some of the people running this AMA might have had an easier time catching that than someone learning the language for funsies like me.

This deserves a quote for a new page as well, and maybe it'll help illustrate to some self-proclaimed fanboy s just how utterly fucking atrocious THQ's leadership is for willingly fraternizing with this kind of human feces. The extremity of the links to out-right white nationalist terrorists Should. Not. Be. Dismissed.

Sorry to keep you waiting. Perhaps if you read the actual post you would know that it's not something to be dismissive about. This is a serious issue to discuss that requires a formal summary, but I guess you won't be reading this either.

Don't forget about all the things you're supporting when you consider any THQ Nordic games.

Here's a helpful summary post of all the events for the uninitiated.

Mod statement: "To address a few recurring points: We will not be banning games published by THQ Nordic and subsidiaries like Deep Silver. You are instead welcome to continue raising the issue in threads relevant to the publisher and its games."

If you use Steam and want to ignore all games that THQ Nordic publishes, go to their publisher page while you're logged in, then click on the little gear icon below where it says "Beta" and choose "Ignore this creator."
_______________________________________________________________

These games are being published by THQ Nordic. For those who may not be aware or who may have forgotten, THQ Nordic had a marketing effort where it intended to gain attention using a website that is known primarily for its support of child pornography, as well as for support of Neo-Nazism, doxxing, and other extremely damaging behaviours.

THQ Nordic's provided no response to this fiasco except for an apology claiming they did not do enough research. As the website is unlisted by Google, they had spoken to the board owner about removing "nasty stuff", and content was viewable both before and during the campaign, this claim is beyond belief. The individuals responsible are known not to be rogue PR interns, but go up to THQ Nordic's board. THQ Nordic has not dealt with the individuals responsible.

Consider that by supporting their games, you are supporting a publisher that is complicit with child pornography.

It will be interesting to see if there are any effect on THQ's sale numbers the next 12-18 months. I'm leading towards small to no difference that THQ qill notice, but I have been surprised before

THQ can super go fuck themselves. I don't give a shit what they announce, I won't be supporting the trash management that fucks around with Nazis, Pedophiles, and Terrorists.

I'd definitely wouldn't mind seeing Novalogic's old IPs revived since THQ Nordic bought them up in 2016. Give me Delta Force, Commanche, and Joint Operations!

THQ has done a solid job publishing. Any chance one of the 3 being "Destroy all Humans?"

Would be nice if it was set during the Nephilims invasion of eden when the Horsemen killed their entire kind. Would fit the name too.

You have no idea how excited that makes me. I've been thinking/hoping it's the Nephilim war or even compeltely different characters along with the Horsemen and since we know that they all get wiped out how sad that could be. They could Crisis Core my ass and I'd thank them for it.

I'm personally gonna stick to talking about the games.

But that was well played, good sir.

Anyway, I appreciate their approach to resurrecting old IP's.

Hrm. We need a thread talking about all the bad acts of all publishers, for people to be aware of the many misdeeds of pubs and devs. Keep the public informed.

Hey, that could be cool. I know we've had a few on Rockstar lately. My main concern is that by having a separate "no actually that publisher you like is bad, actually" that people won't see it.

So, you know, I'm glad we are bringing up the fact that the people who run the company are happy to collaborate with nazi pedophiles where the people who need to be aware of this are actually reading

Somewhere.
Man, would it be nice for Timeslitters to finally return. At least throw out some re-releases of the previous games.

Not that I was going to buy a Destroy All Humans remake or a cobbled-together Saints Row V, but THQ Nordic can go fuck themselves.

Even if you're a Timesplitters fan, I'm p r e t t y sure it's easy to just... not get a video game if it means not giving your money to people who are, at the very least homophobes, pedophiles, & Nazi sympathizers?

Diggeh , Ms.Galaxy , you both have my undying respect & gratitude.

should we put a disclaimer on every dq thread that sugiyama is a racist war crime denier?

Fuck, I'd be down for that. People are way too willing to go to bat for him/Dragon Quest here.

I haven't played Darksiders 3 yet.

But man I just...I really need to play as Strife. I've loved that design ever since I first saw it.

THQ has done a solid job publishing. Any chance one of the 3 being "Destroy all Humans?"

In the infamous 8chan AMA, they teased Darksiders: Genesis, Destroy All Humans, and a game with the tentative title Monkey King. Then there were further rumors about a space game from THQ to be revealed at E3 that was speculated to be Destroy All Humans based on the AMA. But then a new Red Faction was leaked by Nvidia, which fills that space game slot. So at this point who knows. I think the teasing from the AMA definitely points they're planning on doing something with it eventually though.

Isn't Sony producing Monkey King?

A lot of the properties THQ Nordic owns are good properties made by talented developers who, if the games look good, I don't want to hold accountable for the stupid grotesque actions of people so much higher up than them. It's unfortunate but welcome to the capitalist world we live in; your money will likely find its way to people you don't like one way or the other.

Excited to see what Darksiders Genesis is about, but I hope it's not an Isometric shooter.

Looking forward to Red Faction ReMarstered on Switch, so if there's another red faction game coming, I'm all for it.
