Yeah but they're a very small team and they've said it takes a long time for them to make games.
I knew they did something messed up but I never knew the details. This is fucked up
Is it known whose stage they will be on, or indeed if they'll be on a stage at all? I'm just learning about this 8chan relationship of theirs, and I'm very curious to see how the THQ Nordic team will be greeted when they come out on stage.

Because they're one of the biggest video games publishers. I don't think era would appreciate not being able to talk anymore about Shenmue 3, Saints Row, Metro Exodus, A Plague Tale, Dead Island, Darksiders and much more. Not to mention almost all non-first party european retail releases.
No one outside of here really cares. It's a sad fact of the game enthusiast cycle.
The Epic Game Store gets more negative attention than this, which tells me a lot about the state of the gaming community.

At the very best, Waypoint will point out the 8chan connection on the podcast and make some snide remarks. That's all the attention the gaming press is going to ever give to it.
Unless they announce dismissal of the 8chan AMA employees and some signs that they're changing how they do business in the future, I don't know that I care.

Man keep Shenmue's name out of this shit. Tell that to a fan who has been waiting 18 damn years. It's Sega's IP and it had to be kickstarted just to have a chance. Deep Silver got the publishing rights well before THQ bought them. Yu Suzuki just so happens to have the worst luck ever right?

Anyway, I don't really have a dog in this fight regarding what games these could possibly be. I guess I'm rooting for it to be Timesplitters-related since Timesplitters harkens back to GoldenEye/Perfect Dark style of design.
Just saying that it's nearly impossible to avoid purchasing stuff where one part of the money goes to THQ Nordic if you're an enthusiast. Especially if you're european, then you just can't buy any retail game.
Or the people who gives them free marketing? ever wondered that it might actually be the reason why gaming media was mostly quiet about this whole affair? They agreed that avoiding giving 8chan free promotion by talking about them was more important than punishing THQN for consorting with them. And to be honest, i agree.

Literally expect that when the Shenmue 3 OT is made, it will devolve into Shenmue 3 fans liking child porn within minutes basically. I guess they continue to allow the topics just to make a statement about the situation each time.
Yup. Especially when it feels as though at this point Era is the only place you'll see the 8Chan mess mentioned, outside of somewhere like Waypoint.
You don't need to say it, but imo calling it taboo greatly minimizes the issue tho.

If someone makes a topic about Timesplitters and 75 percent of the post become how awful the company is and how awful you are if you bought it, then no, not really plausible. I really don't see a personal issue with boycotting THQ but I do find it kind of weird that this song and dance keeps happening. Some mention they won't ban discussion for those who want to talk about the games, but you kind of can't anyways.
