How bizarre. There has surely been been people fired over this, especially looking at some of their replies in the AMA.

Really idiotic they couldn't be bothered to check on the site before agreeing on it, or even worse, they did know and they just employ disgusting people

like even if you personally dont think its terrible, you have to be able to see how a large amount of people would, and react to it

and thats not exactly what youd want i wouldnt think

but what do i know im just a guy who hasnt linked to a child porn site in a professional (or any) capacity today

The CEO should've already have started rolling heads at this point. This is absolute brand poison.

Maybe if the likes of Microsoft start cutting ties with them, maybe that'll make them do something about it...

When people are trying to gaslight you into supporting THQ, remember that children were abused for the enjoyment of the predators who use that website. And THQ's twitter is still linking directly to it.

Lars isn't in on it (probably), but he isn't helping the situation. IE, the one fucking thing he should be doing. So for now, he is complicit.

"When asked for comment, THQ CEO Lars Wingefors said the PR and marketing manager at THQ Nordic GmbH had already commented on it through Twitter. " - He is seemingly okay with their shitty non-apology, and the Twitter is still linking to a board which hosts pictures of sexualized children.

It almost looks like they did this deliberately.

They simply wanted to garner a new audience demographics, which are the shitty people who are "tired of SJW bullshit in video games". Yes, they will lose lots of sales from people who won't support them anymore after this, but they may also gain new sales from the new audience. I mean, despite all the news surrounding Kingdom Come pre-release, the game still manage to sell 2 million units in its first year.

Koch Media is also part of THQ so we should Boycott Koch too... And we are very fucked because Knoch media distribute almost everything in Europe.

Boycotting them might give SEGA a signal that they need to step up and publish their own games.

Not sure about other companies. I think Nickelodeon might be the quickest to win over, as they wouldn't want their child friendly image to be linked to literal child pornography.

Yeah Nickelodeon maybe is the one that cut ties with THQ but still Koch have all of this: Square Enix, SEGA, Focus Home Interactive, Koei Tecmo Europe, Microsoft, Codemasters, Bethesda, Capcom, NCSoft. Plus other things. Let`s see what happends in the next days...

Koch Media is under THQ Nordic AB, not THQ Nordic GmbH (the company in question here). As far as I understand it, there's no reason to attribute this specific gaffe to Koch or Deep Silver at all (Edit: See below).

Edit: Lars Wingefors is Chief Executive of both companies. Phillipp Brock is PR Director of GmbH.

Just got caught up with all this...

Fallout 76's 'Fail of the Year' status looks quaint compared to this. How can you be so idiotic as to willingly and continuously associate your company with a site literally blacklisted for child porn when your very company relies on deals with external partners? There have been some pretty big PR slip-ups (intentional and not) over the years but this really takes the cake. Just... holy fuck.

EDIT: Just saw that the CEO isn't even doing anything about it. This seems a lot more intentional than idiotic at the moment; there's absolutely no way this was just a lapse of judgement considering how they've dealt with it. I genuinely feel sorry for all the lower-rung employees and development teams THQ Nordic employs who will, unfortunately, be the worst hit if/when the firm's bigger external partners start bailing out.

It's easy. You boycott the one that says "THQ Nordic". The parent THQ Nordic isn't a name you'll ever see anywhere, because it's a rich man's holding company.

Just looked them up and it looks like they made Ori and the Blind Forest??? :(

I really loved that game and was looking forward to the sequel. I feel bad for all the developers who work for them this is such an unbelievably massive fuck up. They need to fire whoever was involved with this immediately if they ever want to have a chance of saving face in the court of public opinion
