I also use the whacking myself in the back of the head with a sledgehammer method whenever I see nazi posts or child porn on anonymous message boards so that I can keep posting their without it being weird.

Only a caveman that's just recently been defrosted because of global warming can be excused for mouthing homophobic slurs after unknowingly walking into a hive of pedophiles and nazis. This person in question on the other hand is clearly not blind, clearly not intelligent, but clearly not a recently defrosted caveman either.

The amount of people that have both severe moral dissonance and high visibility in video games is really starting to get exhausting for me.

As much as I am sometimes unsatisfied with my life, at least I haven't had to publicly clarify that I am against white supremacy, etc. because of a mindbogglingly stupid, reputation ruining decision I made whilst working in, of all things, public relations.

I would be somewhat shocked if the pr team is still employed tomorrow.

THQ will have to make a big statement where they detail what happened, what they will do after firing those pr people and how much money they'll donate to a anti-child-porn charity.

I find the vitriol in this topic directed agienst THQ Nordic slightly unsavory.

It's not that I want to defend them at all, it's just... it was a very stupid decision, and very possibly malevolently on their part. But all the calls for boycotts, calls for everyone involved to be fired, banned from the industry? And this happens so often. It was just a few weeks ago that people were calling for a boycott on all of Activision for their behavior in their conference call.

It just seems like resetera becomes an engine for this righteous fury that we all get caught up in. It was a monumentally bad PR decision, but my reaction to that is to just laugh at the abusrity, not call for heads.

I mean, you got to give him some credit for trying with this apology. It's probably really hard to make an apology that makes it totally clear that you're not a white supremacist or a pedo when you're the type of guy who is totally cool going around to places where you only go if you're a white supremacist or a pedo and hanging around people who are white supremacists and pedos. I certainly wouldn't want that job.
