I don't know how much the rest of you know about 8chan culture (I'm clearly not an expert), but child porn and racism are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in 4chan where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you get screwed by Mark over at 8chan, you bring shame to your whole damn company and the only way to get rid of that shame is "honest" repentance.

What this means is the gaming public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to listen to your backpedaling, nor will they purchase any of THQ Nordic's games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but THQ Nordic has alienated an entire market with this move.

THQ Nordic, publicly apologize and retroactively cancel the AMA at 8chan or you can kiss your business goodbye.

Sounds like the only way out of this mess is to fire the head of PR, any other PR person remotely involved in this, and the director of business too... Depends on what posts are faked if any, that's another reason not to use a crap board like 8 chan aside from the fact that it supports Nazis, pedophilia, etc... But I have a feeling THQ will try to pick only 1 fall guy for this which wont be enough.

I'm not saying to terminate the "lower level" employees who are not responsible for this kind of decision making, but the people responsible for this, including the people who hired this PR dept or the people involved in hiring the people who hired the PR staff deserve to all be immediately terminated. Decisions in this type of organization are made from the top down and if you let the person who hired Mark stay on, or the person who hired the person who hired Mark, then this type of shit will continue to happen.

The intent is to provide channers with a sense of pride and accomplishment for crawling out of their holes.

As for cost, we selected company values based upon ignorance from our PR Department and other considerations made to ethical deficits before posting. Among other things, we're looking at average per-channer masturbation rates on a daily basis, and we'll be making constant adjustments to ensure that channers have AMAs that are stupid, self-congratulatory, and of course attainable via wishful thinking.

We appreciate the candid feedback, and the passion Mark (shout out to you) has put forth around the current AMA here on 8chan, our forums and across numerous social media outlets.

Our team will continue to make dumb decisions and monitor community feedback and update everyone as soon as another fat disaster happens.

I'm not surprised most people on here wouldn't know what an 8chan would be, but I refuse to believe that these PR ppl didn't know what 8chan was comprised of when they agreed or even thought of the idea. It's obscure and skeezy. Normal, decent people aren't posting or visiting that shit. And it's not at all to the level of a Reddit or even 4chan, where 99.9% of people would do an AMA. I 10000% bet they frequented it themselves. Which is a pretty big problem in itself...

Anything else is just spin to lessen the idiocy. Don't believe their lies.

As someone who is part of the "upper brass" of a company I can understand how this can happen. i.e. CEO hires a PR director who keeps their nazi ties secret and is in general a good PR director. So CEO lets PR director have autonomy and go do things. So then when PR director makes nazi ties known CEO needs to act.

So the key question is when did people know things and what did they do about it? The AMA is obviously the PR director's fault because he either knew or should have known about 8chan before agreeing to the AMA which is literally his job. If the people above him knew he was bad or even worse ok'd the 8chan stuff before it happened then yes, they need to go as well. But now that everything about the PR person is out, he needs to go, and if he doesn't then the CEO has no excuse.
