If someone posted this GIF in reaction to a post criticising THQ, they'd rightly be pulled up on it. Grow up.
Yelling at people for voicing serious concerns isn't very adult. Or tactful.

You're equating concern for THQN's actions with a drive by concern trolling post. You grow up.

it shouldn't be possible, i don't understand why you don't want them held accountableI guess it's not possible to have one of these threads without people who want to dicuss the game having to wade through posts about THQs behaviour and vice versa.

Since Avatar isn't on TV anymore, they need to find a way to make the game fun to play on its own. So I guess they'll either remaster them all or create something new from scratch.

it shouldn't be possible, and understand why you don't want them held accountable
I don't understand how that has any relation with your previous "point" that those two scenarios would be equivalent.I guess it's not possible to have one of these threads without people who want to dicuss the game having to wade through posts about THQs behaviour and vice versa. Mods earlier said that both sides of the coin should be tolerated but I'm not sure that's actually possible.
Might as well all Europeans on Era from discussing anything but first-party Sony and Nintendo games.I don't understand how that has any relation with your previous "point" that those two scenarios would be equivalent.
But that aside, I agree, THQN discussions aren't possible here due to the amount of people discussing and raising awareness of their past actions.
And that's a good thing.
If anything, THQN discussion should be completely banned. Sends a more definitive message, maybe we could even have a sticky on the forum explaining why they're banned that also included this brilliant post.
Sorry I don't think I get the reference.Might as well all Europeans on Era from discussing anything but first-party Sony and Nintendo games.
Koch Media, which is part of the THQ Nordic group, is involved with the publication and/or distribution of the games of almost all major publishers in Europe, including Capcom, Square Enix, Bethesda, and many others. Sony and Nintendo are one of the few who do everything themselves.

ATLA is an interesting property which no one seems to be able to do right. Seeing how most THQN games tend to max out at "AA" quality and to not really get *too* ambitious - something I think ATLA requires - I'm reserving judgement.Avatar: The Last Airbender is in the list of properties they got licenses for in March 2018.

THQ Nordic hosted an AMA on 8chan, a site known for being associated with child pornography and later the massacre of 52 people in Christchurch, New Zealand by a white supremacist. Can someone fill me in on why there's so much anger over this?

Thanks, I can't believe someone thought that would be a good idea.

Yeah fuck everyone at THQ Nordic, including the 99% of staff who has nothing to do with the 8 chan thing and who probably think just as badly of it as anyone else.
Is Fuck THQ a meme now?
"It feels horrible to be associated with this company in any capacity," said one developer currently working for a studio under THQ Nordic, who requested anonymity to protect their job.
"I definitely worry about the affect it'll have on our audience," they continued. "The mainstream game audience is arguably already leaning right, and this (implicit or explicit) approval of this awful group is only going to drive sales in their direction and away from the kind of progressive people that I would love to reach. The comment on 'continuing to avoid making games for SocJus audiences' fills me with the most dread."
If we're against this company as a community, Why not just decide to ban THQN threads completely. That's a better stance than what happens today. They get literally no coverage then.Don't be a disingenuous git please. When someone says fuck my company, I'm pretty sure they're not directly talking about me the majority of the time.
Yeah I get that. It just seems a bit futile at this point to swagger into a thread, literally post "fuck thq" and then swag out again. It also shits up threads where people want to discuss the game in question.Take it up with a mod. They've decided this is what they want to do. Folks who don't want to see it can easily ignore it if they like. I've had cases where I've disagreed with others on similar matters and I can manage go about my business without losing my mind and telling those who may care about an issue to fuck off or whatever else. I guess the answer would be for some of the posters here to just grow up.
No one HAS to respond to anyone cussing out THQ or make up silly arguments about how "fuck thq" also means fuck Janet, the single mother of two working in THQ's accounting division.
8 chan gets a bunch of mentions every time theres one of these threads. I wonder if it has led to people checking it out. It might be better not to mention it at all.Aren't we supposed to avoid this kind of cross forum stuff? We know other places (especially some specific ones) are full of unsavory content at best, we don't really need an image or forum name drop to be aware.
We're not talking about average people though are we.You think the average person's reaction to being given the name of a website along with its description as a den for child pornography and pedophiles is to seek it out, and that outweighs the importance of making people aware of the issue and raising its visibility?
No. You don't have to be an era user to browse era. I'm just saying the less mentions of the site the better. I haven't checked it out but as a forty something year old fart, I'd never heard of it until I saw it mentioned on here. You think Era users are more likely to seek out that content then?
I guess my point is maybe just better to not mention it at all.Well in that case I'd say you're proof that it's better to keep bringing it up, so people are aware of the website, THQ's involvement and be able to make better purchase decisions. The last thing we need is to keep this sort of places in obscurity where they can thrive. I still don't understand what you're implying about the average user/Era reader/person about what their reaction to learning about the site would be, but I disagree.
If someone posted this GIF in reaction to a post criticising THQ, they'd rightly be pulled up on it. Grow up.
The context in both cases would be in having no sympathy for the other posters opinion.I completely agree that if you change the context of that response the result would indeed be different.

I'm not saying I don't want them held accountable and I'm not trying to defend them. I made the point way earlier in the thread that if we don't want it to be possible to discuss their games then such threads should be banned outright but that was apparently already discussed and it was decided that was a no go. So basically there is only one place to either discuss the games or criticise the company.it shouldn't be possible, i don't understand why you don't want them held accountable
... of all the THQ games to get a remaster, that was not one I was expecting
Yo this game is the shit, I'm super excited for this! I was honestly considering seeking out an old copy of it, but now I don't need to.
Oh shit, I was hoping this would get a remaster! I remember playing a lot on PS2 back in the day, but I don't think I ever beat it. Day 1 for that nostalgia overload!
MY FUCKING CHILDHOOD!
NOW PORT THE MOVIE GAME TO PS4 YOU COWARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
E3 ALREADY FUCKING LITTY 2 TITTY
The next game is Darksiders Genesis and the last one is Red Faction Evolution (if E3 Coliseum and Nvidia didn't lie)
Haha that's awesome!
Next on the list, a new Red Faction.
Then finally, TimeSplitters.
Did anyone else read this from the description of the video:
"Want to join forces in a brand new multiplayer mode?"
Two more games to go, one has to be Red Faction. That's the one I am waiting for, only if it has full on destruction like Guerilla had.
always joked about them doing this, never thought they actually would.
Was this a good game? My son loves SB but I don't think he's ever played any games form the show
Cool thx for the replyYup, emulates the show pretty well and the platforming and gameplay is surprisingly good. Easily one of the better licensed games of it's time.
Why is this topic so long for a spongebob game wtf
I know but damn in a spongebob topic thoTHQ Nordic fucked up awhile ago, big time.
They never fired the person responsible.
Now, when a thread involving a THQ Nordic game is created, people usually write "Fuck THQ" or bring this up.
Other people get annoyed at the above, this is followed by quoting/discussing/arguing/etc.
And that's pretty much what's happened here.
It has a big speed running community treats renewed interest in it the past few years. It's super random that this is suddenly getting a remake now. Like, it's not unwarranted, since this is actually low-key a really good 3D platformer, but licensed games tend not to ever get re-released.
It's not so much the timing that makes it surprising (though this sort of game is not exactly common in 2019), but the fact that it's happening at all. Most licensed games usually just sort of disappear into the abyss, never to return, once they go out of print. It has a big speed running community treats renewed interest in it the past few years.
For me it is not so much dismissing their concerns that. When i go into a thread about something the first comment is Fuck THQ which has no relation or meaning to the OP. Like how does that contribute to the discussion even a first post of I would love this but i will not for ( insert reason) is more constructive it at least acknowledges the OP and is relevant to the topic at hand.I respect people's decision to refrain from supporting games distributed to THQ and people's decision to continue to support THQ. It doesn't make you a good person to stop or a bad person to continue. It makes you a consumer. I'll continue to support games distributed by THQ despite their insanely stupid decision. I have a different opinion than the "fuck THQ" crowd but I won't dismiss the concerns of them. Let them express their views and perhaps ignore the accounts if they bother you. That is not an endorsement of evil, it's just a decision to maintain comfort on this website. People will be hostile on both sides of the argument but that's natural.
I'm going to use you as an example. This is your first post in the thread.
As opposed to talking about the game announcement, you try to spin this as an attack on developers, ignoring that actual developers under THQ Nordic have commented in a very different way on the matter.
Following that, let's look at every single post you've replied to in this thread.
Not once, not a single time, did you reply to someone who just talking about the Spongebob game. Before you tried to paint yourself as the victim at claim that you're unable to talk about THQ games, you never tried to talk with anyone about THQ's games. Instead you engaged on the subject of the 8chan AMA controversy of your own accord, and then replied to numerous people on that very subject and that subject alone.
To make things perfectly clear, you had no obligation to reply to any of these posts. You replied to only these because you chose to reply to only these.
Now, let's look at the people who were talking about the Spongebob game. To keep this list short, let's limit it just to the people who posted before your first post in the thread. I'll ignore the people saying they'll buy it used because that might be about the 8chan issue.
You could have engaged with any one of these posts, yet you chose not to. Why? There's even a moderator in this list. As above, you had no obligation not to reply to any of these posts.
Since you demonstrated no desire to talk about this game despite having ample opportunity to do so, I'm forced to conclude that you don't actually want to. Instead, you're reacting solely to the existence of posts regarding THQ Nordic's 8chan AMA, which you don't want to see for whatever reason.
Why don't you want to see them? Maybe you want to silence that conversation for some reason. Maybe you feel the sting of conscience when you see those posts and would rather remove them than address your own inadequacies. I don't really know. You're privy to that rather than me. But regardless of what your motivations are, this is how it's bled into your actions.

It is pretty fucked up that we know pedophiles & pedophile apologists are working on a Spongebob game that kids everywhere will be picking up, ain't it?

Come on bruh dont try to bait me with that trash
Read your reply to me againObviously I'm not saying everyone there's a pedophile; I don't know where you're getting that (Unless it's your ass). But there were enough people at THQNordic willing to let their company hold an AMA on 8Chan. The site made up of people banned from child porn-lloving 4Chan for going to far. The site Google has blacklisted because there's entire forums dedicated towards teaching new child predators how to avoid getting caught & to inflict more suffering on the kid. The site where THQNordic staff responded that they have "big-tittied lolis."
So yes. This is fucked up & absolutely should be in every topic pertaining to games they make that are targeting minors.
So tolerate it. You want to buy their shit? fine. You still get to wade through the protests and maybe someday figure out exactly why people wouldn't want to support child fucking pornographyI guess it's not possible to have one of these threads without people who want to dicuss the game having to wade through posts about THQs behaviour and vice versa.
