Can you guys shut up with the THQ Nordic hate? You guys hate them because they did an AMA on 8chan? who cares!
Yeah! Who cares they did an AMA on a site so horrible that it's even banned from Google for promoting pedo.. Or the fact just a few short weeks later a 8chan member went on a killing spree on behalf of 8chan.. Who cares!

This was not expected. I know a lot of people will be happy about this and just look away at the THQ stuff.

This site needs to either ban THQ Nordic threads (do this), or ban comments deriding THQ in THQ threads (do this if you're a pussy). Pick a fucking side, this constant derailing is so tiring.

What does being abused have to do with THQ Nordic? They did an AMA on 8chan because its similar to /v/ except the posts on there last a lot longer, they used it because the audience are known to be gatekeepers to Eurojank games.

If you actually care then read my quoted post but I doubt you will.

I hope you don't mind Diggeh that i quote you here.

Don't forget about all the things you're supporting when you consider any THQ Nordic games.

Here's a helpful summary post of all the events for the uninitiated.

Mod statement: "To address a few recurring points: We will not be banning games published by THQ Nordic and subsidiaries like Deep Silver. You are instead welcome to continue raising the issue in threads relevant to the publisher and its games."

If you use Steam and want to ignore all games that THQ Nordic publishes, go to their publisher page while you're logged in, then click on the little gear icon below where it says "Beta" and choose "Ignore this creator."

These games are being published by THQ Nordic. For those who may not be aware or who may have forgotten, THQ Nordic had a marketing effort where it intended to gain attention using a website that is known primarily for its support of child pornography, as well as for support of Neo-Nazism, doxxing, and other extremely damaging behaviours.

THQ Nordic's provided no response to this fiasco except for an apology claiming they did not do enough research. As the website is unlisted by Google, they had spoken to the board owner about removing "nasty stuff", and content was viewable both before and during the campaign, this claim is beyond belief. The individuals responsible are known not to be rogue PR interns, but go up to THQ Nordic's board. THQ Nordic has not dealt with the individuals responsible.

Consider that by supporting their games, you are supporting a publisher that is complicit with child pornography.

Despite on paper looking like a licensed cash grab, this was an actually legit great 3D platformer, while having enough fanservice for the people who really enjoy the show. Hopefully it's a good remaster as I'm definitely interested in picking this up on PC.

This was a really solid 3D platformer; i'm glad to see it get remastered!

But, uh, THQ make this a bit of a problem.

But I want this.

Shit.

I loved this game but I'm not going to support a company who catered to a website that should be shut down by every law enforcement agency in the world.

i mean i get why you're saying this but also at the same time they were teasing the announcement by using the intro lines to the show, c'mon.

User Banned (1 Week): Dismissive Commentary Surrounding A Site with Child Pornography
Aside from holding a mostly harmless ama, THQ Nordiq are pretty great. They're basically forgiven for being an idiot before in my eyes, hope Timesplitters is next.

How terrible that you have to suffer through all of the mere mentions that this company legitimized a community of people associated with child pornography.

Imagine being so privileged/ignorant to actually think that you're a victim here.

Not that I want to defend THQs mindbumbingly awful decisions, but it's a bit disingenuous to say it was unlisted when the AMA happened. It was unlisted a few years ago but as far as I can tell it was restored at some point before the AMA.

That being said they are lying through their teeth that they had absolutely *no idea!* about the content on the board, especially given how the THQ representative interacted with them.

Are you actually serious? Wow. Do you need someone to point out the link between posting on a site that hosts child porn and child abuse?

Absolutely no. They promoted a website that has been black listed from so many search engines, and even some ISPs have made it so accessing the website isn't as easy as clicking the site's IP or domain address. It's site features so many hate groups, promotion of pedophilia, and among other things. Like, in absolutely no way should anyone not let this go. They gave exposure to something that should not be, in any capacity, given exposure. Plus, some of the comments by the AMA guy in there, even if they had gone in there with some level of ignorance, even laughed about some homophobic shit post there, even suggesting that it's in one of their upcoming games.

So, absolutely not.

EDIT:

They already did. But I bet you don't care anyway.

It was a half-hearted response without major actual action taken to the parties involved. So, no, not really...

I've somehow managed to evade Spongebob despite not particularly trying. I basically only know that it's a cartoon, which is apparently somewhat aimed at adults?

Wouldn't have any interest in this even if THQ Nordic didn't employ people on director level who pal around with Nazis and pedophiles.
