I recorded over my Mom's Days of Our Lives and Passions recordings once and I still remember her anger ~25 years later.

Kids these days will never understand having to find a usable cassette in a split second. We really suffered as children of the 90's šŸ˜

Me and my sister were obsessed with playing with the remote, so we hit record by mistake a few times, and messed up a few of our favorite VHS tapes while young, lol.

I was old enough to use a VCR but I let my parents handle all of the taping because I was afraid of something like this happening.

Yes, I accidentally recorded over "The Making of Thriller". I don't even remember what was recorded but I think my mother is still mad at me about it.

No but it happened to me. I don't know what movie or cartoon it was but I remember watching it and then it suddenly changing to some live action softcore porn or something. I wasn't too mad.

No because I was the only one in my house who actually used the VCR to record stuff, so all the blank tapes were bought for me to record my cartoons and stuff.

I think I was the only one that actually recorded anything, but then again I had my own VCR... the day I figured out how to set recordings so I could watch super late Adult Swim anime was life changing though.

I think it was one of my own VHS tapes. It had Cardcaptor Sakura episodes and I accidentally recorded a Dragon Ball Z episode. Or was it Inuyasha?

I'm pretty sure some interesting shit my folks recorded was lost to my incessant recording of the Bugs Bunny marathons, Cartoon Network superbowl shenanigans, Disney Afternoon, and Toonami.

I was on an episode of a show called Sunday Funnies in the mid-80's. How my parents could be so thoughtless as to record over that is beyond me.

Nah, I was lucky enough to have my own VCR TV and blank tapes so stuff like that was never a problem.

No. But, I have disrupted the delicate settings of the VCR recording. Flipped a switch, messed with the VCR, watched TV at the wrong time, whatever.

My mom would get very upset that she couldn't fast-forward through most of a week of General Hospital.

We were pretty good about labeling our tapes, so I can't remember anybody accidentally recording over anything.

Many times. Usually my mum didn't get that mad and took it as a sign that we needed to buy more blank tapes.

Pretty sure I recorded something over a baby tape of mine and my mom was super pissed.

Yep, recorded over my cousins recordings of the X-Men Phoenix saga and he hated me for awhile. I don't think it was on purpose

I'd always just stuff those tabs full of toilet paper because sometime the scotch tape would break

then it was like an endless disc you could record forever if you record at EP

I remember recording Sinbad movie over my dad's religious sermon tape. He didn't mind too much thankfully.

Yes, I got a right bollocking from my father when I accidentally taped over a birthday party with heavy metal music videos.

Only myself. I would record tons of cartoons and anime in the early years of Toonami but because of my schedule, couldn't always get to them until the weekend. Sometimes I would get to it only to find I accidentally recorded over Tuesday's episodes. I finally just got 5 tapes labeled Monday - Friday to ensure that I was always recording over the right one.

I was maybe 7 and my older brother was 11 somewhere in that range. He taped the problem child movie over the tape of me from my birth. My mom was beyond pissed. We have it and a piece of tape that says problem child. You start it and it's 10 seconds of mom rocking me in the chair and then the movie starts.

On a positive note we watched that movie a bunch so it got way more use than us watching the first few months!

We had plenty of spares so I had my own personal tapes to record my shit on.
