Would be hilarious if he tries to sue and somehow through the course of the proceedings it is proved that he actually doesn't have legal claim to the Sonic characters. I have no idea if that's legally possible, nor do I think it would actually happen but it would certainly be a great "flies to close to the sun" moment.

lol if he thinks he won't be crushed by Paramount. Dude only won against Archie because they lost the contracts.

Buahahaha. Does Sega pay him royalties for Knuckles? If the answer is no, then yeah he has not chance in hell going against Paramount.

The problem isn't Knuckles, the problem is whether they encroached on any of the shitty Echidna clan from the old comics

Actually that's the silly part, he didn't win against Archie, they settled out of court (which means no judgement actually occurred). The lawsuit was perfectly capable of continuing without the original contract, it may have hurt Archie's position but it didn't invalidate it.
Reasonable speculation is what seemed to have happened is it was right about that time Archie realised it was going to be a long lawsuit from then on, and they were already in financial trouble. Thus deciding to settle out of court, which of note the terms of the settlement have never been publicly disclosed, and Penders always curiously looks for a reason to avoid the subject.

Further notes; Scott Fulop tried the same thing and failed, and Penders failed to present his lawsuit against Bioware for Sonic Chronicles (it got dismissed 2 or 3 times). His foundation is nothing but sand.

And we all know that what Penders says isn't necessarily the truth. Like how he totally owned the rights to Shade the Echidna from Chronicles because of the alleged similarities to his own character, even though Sega now has recently published a Sonic Encyclopedia featuring her with no legal credit to Penders. I'm sure he'll be taking Sega to court any day now. Definitely.

Ken's the kind of guy who tried to act like he invented the concept of "Sonic having parents" and then immediately downplaying it when someone pointed out Sonic had parents in Japanese media before he ever came along... not that it wasn't already ridiculous to try to claim such a basic concept for a character. Doesn't surprise me whatsoever he would do the same with literally anything regarding Echidnas doing anything.

Someone at SEGA/Paramount opens a cabinet, there's a hammer and a glass box containing legal documents and their lawyer's phone number, labeled "Break in case of Penders"

"The day has come..."

Yea I dont think Ken has a case. Or ever had one, just got lucky once with people who didnt care enough, and now is in for a rude awakening. But hey if he tries then maybe the failure will shut him up enough for people to try bringing some classic characters back. One can hope at least.
