Smash Bros music channels have always been subject to copyright shenanigans from Nintendo. This time around however, Square-Enix and Atlus have joined in on the fray in copyright striking Smash Bros. music from YouTube. The latest channel that was targeted? 31 Horas Music.
Of all the channels on YouTube, 31 Horas has become arguably the most popular music ripper of Smash Bros. Ultimate music, especially as Nintendo have taken down several other rippers. A few days ago, the channel put out a statement that the channel was hit with strikes from third-party companies due to Smash music, something generally unheard of until now.
The many stories of Nintendo taking down YouTube music channels are well-known, but it's important to remember even other companies are still not friendly, even though they not be as proactive in taking down music.

31 Horas said:At the end of 2018 we made the mistake of uploading the new music of Smash Ultimate before its official launch thanks to the leak of the game, so in all its right Nintendo ordered to remove the videos with their respective strikes, for which the channel original closed and we created this one. Currently, Nintendo has been removing part of the soundtrack of several of its games from several YouTube channels, although now this does not lead to the closure of the channel, as it does not merit strikes.
With this clarified, we now have the channels closed due to strikes from third-party companies with content in Smash, the most radical being SQUARE ENIX and ATLUS, which have closed channels with their content. Many of you will think, and if you stop monetizing your channel, the problem could end? The answer is a resounding "NO"; even small channels that did not monetize their content have received strikes that have closed their channels.
The solution we have taken to this situation has been to hide for a long period of time both the FINAL FANTASY VII and the Persona videos (and it is possible that more franchises will join this measure over time) Does that mean they will be removed from the channel? No, they will continue on the channel with the possibility of being seen, as they are not private videos, although they will not appear in the channel's feed. So how can we see it? If the videos of these franchises are saved in a personal playlist, they will still be there and can be viewed normally; likewise, the playlists of each franchise will continue to be available with their respective videos as well as the list of all Smash songs. I hope you understand the situation and we hope you continue to support us with your views of these videos. Remember: they have NOT been removed, only hidden from main pages, but not from playlists.
