Welp, this sounds like this could get delayed then if lawyers are involved.
I'm assuming that Snyder and the NFL (and their lawyers) are strongarming journalists in order to try and get out ahead of this thing.

Because if it's as bad as it sounds then Snyder and the NFL are fucked. They were already taking heat because of the whole COVID mess and their intentions to have the season anyway. If one of their more publicly recognizable owners is mixed up is drugs and sexual misconduct? Ooooooh boy.

Potential leaks and rumors over on the team's subreddit suggest that it is related to sexual assault. A lot of it.

The rumors revolve around team leadership pressuring members of the media to trade sexual favors for continued access to the team. Here's a screenshot pulled from the sub, though we'll see what the story ends up being when it breaks:

Damn, I remember an accusation of a staff members wife saying that a media person was exchanging sex for access so this isn't that surprising now.

Wow, if true, but if access to a team is gold, isn't inside dirt like this platinum?

I remember reading in 2018 and recently winter 2019, places like NY Times having articles about the cheerleaders nude photo shoots and now people were there to see it. Then they had article talking about cheerleaders being used, pretty much as escorts. Hinted towards this, but not in depth. All had to do with state of cheerleading and sexual harassment.

But yea this shows it's been noted for a long ass time. Just must be a lot of legal hoops to go through for such a big story

Now that would be sordid, to say the least

Washington Post reporters are being tight lipped, and nothing is leaking. Usually means lots and lots of lawyers and secret meetings on what you can and can't say.

A fuck up could leave a lot of liability in all sorts of directions.

Pat McAfee just got a text on his show telling him what the story might be. He couldnt drop the news because it wasnt confirmed, but he said that what he read isnt just off the field issues, its ON the field as well. Not really sure what that means, but he said theyre "ruining the integrity of the game".

Sounds like throwing games.

Im probably reading way too much into this, but before he kicked it to commercial break, he was talking about the nascar race last night and how bubba wallace was intentionally hit so he would crash and get knocked out of the race. He then went on to say that "what I was just talking about (the nascar stuff) ties into the text I just got".

Thats sounds to me like some sort of intentional throwing/fixing IMO. That right there would be a fucking bombshell. If that is the story, theres 0% chance they play this season. If they do, it would be under a massive suspension, barring them from the playoffs (lol like they even had a chance to begin with).

Based on what you're saying I think that sounds more along the lines of a bounty scheme like the one Gregg Williams got in trouble for years back.

Washington players have suffered from a bunch of bizarre on the field injuries but I can't think of a way something like that could be intentional or planned.

Imagine if on top of everything else this might be, the Skins were also cheating and still were the shittiest team in the league.

There's a rumor out there involving Alex Smith's injury implying it wasn't a complete accident. Something about a conflict between Jay Gruden and a player on the O line that resulted in that player getting benched and his replacement missing a block, which resulted in Smith's injury.

idk there's so much shit flying around we just need this story dropped already.

Ugh imagine if there's an throwing of games by the offensive line which exasperated any QB injuries.

What I'm hearing it isn't an O Lineman it is Kapri Bibbs, a runningback. (who would have been in and blocking on that play)

Apparently Jay Gruden was having sex with a team receptionist and found out that Bibbs was also sleeping with that same receptionist and benched him for it.

For the on-field issues, there is a lot of current speculation about Jay Gruden and who he would play, especially his RBs. There has always been speculation on the Alex Smith injury why they had an inexperienced blocker (Byron Marshall) out there instead of who they usually used (Kapri Bibbs). People are speculating there was some kind of off-field drama between Gruden and Bibbs.

I remember, shortly before Gruden was fired, "suddenly" there was a video leak of him smoking pot on presumably a date. There must have been a ton of blackmail and intentional leaks going on, from all directions.

Remember when their GM Scott McCloughan was being fired and is "suddenly" leaked about his alcoholism coming back again?

The off field drama was Jay gruden had a side chick, like an intern or something, that he would stay late at work with and drink. apparently Bibbs was also messing around with her, and when Jay found out he benched Bibbs, which led to the missed block by the replacement which led to Smith getting hurt

If the only on field stuff is this Alex Smith injury thing than that isn't really much. It only shows that Gruden is vindictive to Bibbs. It is a bit of a reach to blame the injury on that. Backups are still getting paid to play. This would just show that Gruden is an immature child which we kind of knew already. The more damning thing would be if they would deliberately let defenders through to influence the outcome of games.

Damn I forgot about that Gruden story. This seems like the direction we are heading. I think it would be incredibly hard to fix an NFL game, there would have to be so many moving parts that it would have leaked long ago.

Although after youtubing... I did stumble across this video which happens to involve Washington... but I think its more of just a bad call than it is a fixed game:

Snyder should've been out and obstensibly arrested after the fucking awful shit he pulled with the cheerleading scandal.

NFL (and American football in general honestly) is going to continue to have a reckoning if they allow the organizations to have so much rot on the inside.

Good. It's ridiculous that nothing serious happened with the cheerleader situation.
