OMG that twist :O
The entire episode was honestly really creepy, given where we last left things in Osea.

Without spoiling too much, does the new episode continue any of the story beats left open from the Jude Law portion?
Haha I dunno why but I just assumed that twist was the case from the beginning, but then as it went on I was thinking 'oh no that's not right', so it somehow came back around by the end to be a surprise again. Although I think I preferred it when there wasn't that kind of close link, but we'll see how it plays out.OMG that twist :O

Really looking forward to watching this; is the live-thing mandatory material?

You're probably right! It also makes a lot of her behaviour in this episode make a lot more sense, I think I'm just generally weary of stories feeling too closed lately, where everything is linked to the existing characters, but you're right it does work here.I don't know how it would work if it wasn't linked like that - Jude Law was kept there because he was their chosen one or whatever - what would be their reason for keeping Naomie Harris? This is an inversion of that, where they don't want her there and she's the one pushing to stay, which I think is pretty neat. It also gives her more agency, where she's (PRESUMABLY) not just being terrorized for 3 episodes - a good way of making the back half feel distinct from the first half.
I think it was the other way around! It was broadcast live on Sky's facebook page.Is there a way for UK folks to watch the live event? Or was just for US peeps?
Oh, found it, thanks!I think it was the other way around! It was broadcast live on Sky's facebook page.

Recap and links to the archive here: https://www.hbo.com/the-third-day/autumn-live-eventHas the 12 hour episode been archived at all? I wasn't able to time in for long that day in the end, frustratingly.
In a nod to the show's opening song, Florence Welch of musical act Florence and the Machine also joins the cast of "Autumn," as Veronica. Her vocal talents are utilized as she leads an original call-and-response song at each station of the cross, the music a strange mix of traditional Essex folk song and Christian hymn.
What a cool cameo. Didn't they use The Dog Days Are Over in one of the earlier episodes as well?Florence from Florence and the Machine was in the live event?!

Absolutely! I'm telling you, it was awesome.Florence from Florence and the Machine was in the live event?!
Landing; stuck. Loved it. Especially the final imagery with the bag of money / Nathan's clothing.
Yeaa i thought so too but I guess they're trying to do the less is more approach with leaving the island:I don't know, I thought the finale was just okay? I guess I kind of pictured something crazier or more disturbing or something so I came away underwhelmed.
LinkWhat a show.
The constant sense of unease, creepy lore, cinematography, performances, score. I loved it all.
Massively impressed by the live event. The 100min highlight video is definitively worth watching. It is very slow, but shows a bunch of strange island traditions and beautiful imagery; hard to believe it was all shot live. Also, I'm a sucker for steady-cam oners. And I have no idea how Jude Law didn't pass out while filming it.
Finally caught up.
Fun show. Glad I watched. Ending was fine but I'm a little weirded out by Jess's character development. I guess a lot can happen in 9 months lol
Remember that the Jess we saw in the first half was a facade from the start. She was part of the cult trying to get Sam on side so that she could help make him stay. Finally caught up.

I think she was in on it from the start, at least, having his child seems to have been planned.
