Those are very impressive. But it does need to be mentioned again that the Avatar trailer had leaked online a full week earlier and has been playing in front of Dr Strange (a film seeing crazy business from audiences) for almost a week too.Damn-I wouldn't have even known about this if not for this thread-but I just looked it up.

If I saw Gravity in 3D it would have been at home and way less impactful, and didn't see Hugo. In theaters only Prometheus had similar "wow" moments to Avatar for me, which was almost start to finish.
They're in a different situation. Avatar is coming back from a long hiatus and might take a little while to jump back into the public consciousness. Im kinda shocked that it's first showing actually garnered this much interest.

"Avatar has no cultural impact" says forum that brings up its lack of impact daily.
Nah it's probably because if you compare it to Marvel the numbers look less impressive, I would've done the same thing
