i really like it but the color tone is really muted compared to the original box art for the PS1 version.I can't imagine the western icon will be any different to the existing Japanese one.

Yeah, just saw it. Sorry I missed it. Looks gorgeous. Insta-buy. It's a shame the Takeshi icon is god awful (my SO bought it, she doesn't care too much about Switch icons, but it's awful).
Short Hike is quite lovely and what I expected, while Spiritfarer is beautiful, but I feel like the logo and/or the image itself should be a little bigger.

Looks like the icon for Moon in the west is improved. I just checked and the Japanese one wasn't updated to match the one we have. So on the left is Japan's, on the right is the US and Europe.

The Japanese icon actually looks like it's, like, a scan of an actual Moon PS1 cover, or like a cell phone picture or something. Like there's that weird scratch in the bottom left corner that the US/EU cover doesn't have. And another in the bottom center, below the arrows.
I assume you missed that they already got the updated icon in the pipeline for a patch.

Wow! Incredible. I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll just say that being able to "feel" the textures of the game art will make you smile once you get into the game. It's not "important," but you'll think, "OH! That's why the cover is like that."
