I just realized I can't remember a single note of new music from the ST.
Rey's theme was memorable and vintage Williams and it was clear not just from hearing it but from hearing him in interviews he was excited to write and inspired by her introduction. After that......I just realized I can't remember a single note of new music from the ST.
Other than the fact that the main refrain that everyone remembers from Duel of the Fates was STOLEN from old Shaw movies, sure.
rey's theme is pretty good.
duel of the fates was so strong that when i was a teenager and heard someone playing the soundtrack, i didn't recognize it from the prequel trilogy, but i immediately picked up on it being 'star wars'.
Yup.Prequels have a couple of really great, standout tracks like Duel of the Fates and Across the Stars, but the OT is just stacked topped to bottom with iconic, timeless music.
The Star Wars main theme
Binary Sunset
Imperial March
Emperor's Theme
Yoda's Theme
Asteroid Field
Luke and Leia
Leia's Theme
Han and the Princess
Cloud City
Throne Room
Battle of Endor
I mean, come on. Don't be silly.
Across The Stars is a masterpiece and gives me chills everytime I hear it. It's crazy how a 5:30 minute track can convey a doomed romance better than 2 full length movies.
original trilogy has the greatest music in the history of film for fucks sake
star wars theme, imperial march and binary sunset alone stomps the prequels
prequel trilogy ain't shit
Yeah, the kung-fu flicks. I'm having trouble finding a link at the moment. Because it's Shaw, it pops up in several movies, but I remember it most as the chase music from Avenging Eagle.Links? I would like to hear this. Also you mean like Shaw Bros, Kung Fu flicks?

Just so we are clear, John Williams Theme from Superman is the greatest song in film ever.
They look better than all the other films. Is there anything the sequels do better than the other trilogies?

Hell we got lucky Rebels and Clone Wars got incredible music as well.Great music across all 3 trilogies. Throw in some of the Solo and Rogue one stuff too.
