Fuck me the dialogue choices are so good, NPC's all have great character etcI needed to pay some bits to a person but if you search arround talk to some more people there was way to not pay it.
Its like there is a path to a situation but there are 10 options how you can handle it. I must say i didnt play alot of Obsidian games. They always been this great with option? These options and branches make some big AAA RPG's look like a joke.

I forgot the tip early on about time dilation running out faster when moving. Thought it was draining too damn fast...now I can stand there stoic, lobbing grenades, spitting bullets, and shocking fools to death as is right.

As far as heavy weapons go, it's pretty effective to just lob grenades from a distance, then hit them with the gun that does shock damage when they get close. Light machine gun just chews through ammo too fast, at least early. I imagine mid game on you'll have more ammo than you know what to do with.

I also have a max strength character, and I'm almost always encumbered. 🙄

What is with Amazon lately.. Feel like this is at least the 4th game I decide to get last minute since I have $40 credit. But it shows back ordered will ship in November. Obviously don't want it from Amazon now. Thanks😂😂

Well, I did a sidequest to fix the heat issue and got 3000 bits from it. Guess my money shortage is solved for now and I can actually buy water, food, and ammo.

If all side quests pay this much I should do more of them.

Fix for games not installing on Xbox app on PC

Sorry to be using bold but I figured this may help anyone else who got stuck trying to install. I noticed all games that wont install say they require administrator approval. Despite being on the admin account it still doesnt work.

So here's how to prevent this.

Click the start menu > settings (cog) > accounts > sign in options > scroll down to privace and uncheck the bottom box (use my sign in info to automatically finish setting io my device...)

Once that's done restart your PC and enjoy actually being able to download stuff finally!

New Vegas was like that.
I'm playing Pillard of Eternity and it's the same thing.

I kind of wish food, water & sleep played more of a part on Hard. I would love something in-between Hard and Supernova. Where you have the majority of the Supernova stuff minus the perma death of companions. I would love a mode like that.

Oh for those starting out, you can easily miss a lot of side quests in this game. I decided to start a new character to show my wife since she is interested and I totally missed a very early side quest that lead to 3 additional side quests that I never encountered because I missed the first one. In short, read and click on most/all dialog options because there are some hidden side quests that you can easily miss. Damn I love this game!

I can already see three playthroughs of this game, easily:
1) Smooth-talking but low-temperament (so far this hasn't come up in gameplay which I hope changes) engineer/medic with a focus on energy and short guns
2) Dumb-as-bricks but perceptive and dextrous sniper/long guns/1-handed specialist
3) Brilliant and strong but not at all charming or dextrous melee/heavy weapons specialist (this is likely to be my "no companions" playthrough)

1 is anti-corp and doesn't steal anything, 2 steals anything not bolted down, 3 is pro-corp and likely to intimidate and kill a lot (this'll be my asshole run).

I just hope that the game is exciting and short enough to do three playthroughs, and that these ideas can actually hold up through the entire game.

A 'hardcore' toggle like in New Vegas would have been perfect.

But it feels like an afterthought mostly tbh. Its implementation is nowhere near as satisfying as New Vegas hardcore.
Probs a dumb question, but where do I buy this game on PC? It's not on Steam?
MS Store, Game Pass, or Epic Game Store.

Loving it so far. Everything Fallout 4 wasn't.

My only niggle is the lack of third person camera. The fact the games idle camera shows you a third person view just rubs it in even more.

I left the first planet quickly, I hope those quests are not locked out.

This might be obvious but I totally missed it since it introduces TTD more regarding combat and I only saw this while digging through some of the menus, but when you stand still and don't fire you can be in that state for a really long time, and looking at NPCs/Enemies will pop up their level and combat style. I was overlooking that for a long time.

I'd also definitely recommend turning off the option to show base weapon stats, dunno why that's even the default.

This has probably been asked 339230923 times already, so apologies in advance, but is the Hard difficulty the way to go here?

I'd like it to be immersive and challenging, but I guess I don't want to frustrate myself if it's crazy hard.

What do the numbers actually mean next to skills in conversations? IE, sometimes if I go to use the persuade option it'll display like this:

[Persuade 1] blah blah blah
[Medical 15] blah blah blah (this one will be totally grey'd out and not selectable.

Glad to see there's so many people playing :)

Level 18, on Monarch, leaving Stellar Bay to go to a grave and then visit Fallbrook. My main playstyle is ranged, lots of high damage cit shots with snipers and long range rifles. I have a shotgun just in case things get too close and a Plasma Carbine for that mid range too.

Currently, I have Parvati and Nyoka with me. Parvati is my favourite, I also really like Ellie and SAM. Overall, digging this game hard right now, it lets me play how I want and doesn't penalize me for that.

I think it means your Persuade skill needs to be that number to pass the check.

Like you need to have Medical at 15 or above to pass that check (or even get that dialogue option in the first place).

Oh my gosh, thank you thank you thank you. I was in shock when it happened to me early this morning and posted here saying "I guess it's not a big deal that I lost so much time". When I woke up later I was in the grieving phase. Now to figure out how to log into that app as offline, which is a lot better than trying to find and resurrect a old save in this UWP protected nonsense (I'm so not a fan, I should have just got the EGS version, I'm getting it later anyway for possible mods).

Edit: Hmm I can't play with it offline, asks me to pick an account to log into. Maybe GP version won't work with this fix. Darnit. And how the heck did it glitch out on me the first time I played when I was online and signed into the Xbox App.
If you still haven't figured it out yet, when the prompt comes up to sign in you can just close out the box and it'll let you continue offline. I'm using the GP version so it definitely works.

I feel dumb. How do you swap weapons using a gamepad? works all right with the mouse.

Never mind. You hold "Y" button.

I modeled my character after Arnold Schwarzenegger though, so I am morally obligated to jump over enemy cover, do a 180, slow down time, and blow their brains out mid-air.

Hard isn't really hard, I am in no way a great gamer, and I am not struggling, shame there isn't a difficulty above hard, but below supernova.
I got a weapon that shreds everything on the first planet.
I also now want to become a cystypig tycoon IRL

Yeah definitely go hard. At first it will seem intimidating and taking on even a few enemies at once will seem like a tough task. However once you start leveling and getting better weapons it balances out to the point where I feel like playing on normal would probably be a cake walk. You'll definitely die early on though so be sure to save often.
