The Outer Worlds is not even coming to Steam...damn...I guess I will choose the lesser of the 2 evils for The Outer Worlds then, EGS...but I am not happy about it! Steam has so much functionality and years of proven stability and performance. EGS has none of that!
Because Microsoft isnt going to be rmuscled out of a game by a developer they now own.

Someone should update the OP with the word exclusive, it's not coming to Steam. They said the games are exclusive for at least a year. Also The Outer Worlds is launching on the Microsoft Store.
I think they're saying that you can buy TOW from both EGS and the Windows Store for the year after launch, THEN its available on Steam, no? It's Epic's moneyhat?

Well there goes my purchase of The Outer Worlds...fucking hell! One of my most aniticpated games too! Damn shame.
Was excited to play Detroit and was ready to give epic another chance but fuck that, thanks for saving me money.
Obsidian clarified that it will come to Steam and everywhere else after a year.
I mean, they weren't until they were bought my Microsoft.
Now I'm sure they are doing just fine.
I don't think that means it isn't ever coming to steam (the steam page got updated to 2020 apparently).

And because they don't own the game IP, this is them making the most of the game before Obsidian goes fully Microsoft owned.

They are doing that since day one. They also pay for devs to remove them from key stores. But they partnered with Humble now so you can't call them monopoly...
Stuff like this isn't competition, it's blatant anti-consumerism. Epic's moneyhatting isn't giving you a reason to use EGS, it's depriving you of a choice to use something else (Steam).
Take two: launching exclusively on epic is not the smart thing to do. You go where consumers are.

Exactly, being a fan of something doesn't mean you accept anything or everything that's served up to you by the publisher/developer. Excercise your right not to support a platform who's business strategies you don't agree with!
