Wow. As a DOOM fan of the series I am actually surprised. I just added them all to my Wishlist and will think about purchasing them later. For now I want to do research before I spend my money right away.
My initial reaction however is that I assume the DOOM and DOOM II ports are just normal 4:3 aspect with no up and down aiming (Yes I know the game didn't have or need it, but it feels weird for me when I play without the view looking up or down. It's a turnoff) which I'm not sure about. Also I'm so used to playing on a source port GZDoom where the weapons can be aimed properly and the screen is wide and I can use Brutal DOOM to make it more fun. I haven't played "vanilla" DOOM in decades nor have I enjoyed it since the creation of BD. I'd be happy if it were just widescreen and had vertical aiming.
DOOM 3 however, I've been wanting to play that again for a while. I owned it on Xbox way back in the day in the limited edition metal casing and haven't played it since I beat it then. Never owned the expansions. My Xbox doesn't play it anymore. And I own it on Steam but never owned a machine that can actually play it. So this might be my only way to play it again. So that's probably a definite purchase.
Also, I still haven't bought DOOM 2016 yet. I want it physical but am waiting for a good price for the Switch version.
I'm just worried I won't be able to play with a controller period. It's been years since I actually played FPS games on a console with a controller. I'm used to using the arrow keys and my trackpad on my MBP. (Yes, you read that right. No, don't bother telling me I'm playing wrong. I'm not having this conversation again.) And they work so well for me, I can't use any other control schemes. I can never get the "look sensitivity" right on the control sticks. Either I turn too fast or I turn too slow and I can't do it. So that's the only thing keeping me from buying or playing any of these games. On the other hand, a controller is the only way I ever played 3 so I might still be able to do that.
