This new ME is obviously years away, but I really hope BioWare nails it.
Given the damaged Relay in the flyby, I'd assume that Destroy is going to the basis of what goes forward.
Asari live for some time right? wonder if she's trying to find the crew of the Normandy. She was an archaeologist originally right? maybe this takes place a while after the first trilogy.

No lie, that would be an amazing trojan horse, and post-ME3 (especially with what looks like destruction ending) is certainly a good way to 'reset' the player power level/importance of Shepard as the god/jesus figure.....
But I'd be shocked (in a good way) if they bring back Shepard at all - the character has so much baggage/story relevance that'd it would be hard to go full 'reset', even with a new lower-tech galaxy, unless EVERYTHING is changed, and his/her status has lost relevance.
IMO Liara returns as a mentor character of sorts....but I'd love to be proven wrong.

Bioware is going to bring them back. EDI and Geth are too popular not to come back. They're going to ignore that little corner they created and keep all synthetics and Quarians alive because it makes the most sense.
