From the article.

[AANG]
Male, Asian. Lead Character is 12, male, of East Asian or South Asian heritage. Aang is a typical twelve-year-old boy. A bit goofy, a bit nerdy, restless in school, always eager to join his friends for fun and games. He's nimble, energetic, and quick in the schoolyard. Adopted at birth, he's struggled with questions of how he fits in, but his slaving parents have worked hard to make him feel accepted, and so he's grown up to become generous, kind-hearted, and cheerful. He's also been gifted with an incredible mystical power he doesn't really understand, but it could be the key to saving the world from a global conflict. It's a responsibility he's reluctant to accept because it'll take him away from his family, friends, and everything he knows. All he wants is to just be a regular kid. SERIES REGULAR
[KATARA]
Female, Native American. Character is 14, female, of heritage indigenous to North America.
Smart, athletic, determined, and hopeful, she's had to keep her family together ever since her mother was killed in a mysterious supernatural event several years ago, a trauma that haunts Katara every day. Recently, she's started to develop strange new powers that both intrigue and scare her. She's looking for someone to help her understand these changes. But she's also started to find hope in the thought her new skills could lead to a brighter future for her and her family. SERIES REGULAR
[SOKKA]
Male, Native American. Character is 16, male, of heritage indigenous to North America.
Carrie's gangly and strong older brother, Sokka, is a teen who's been forced to grow up too fast. Since his mother's death, he's had to become the leader of the family. Which has led him to butt heads with his sister, who resents his overprotective nature. He's concerned about her new powers, worried they might put her in harm's way. Despite everything, he and Katara have a natural rapport, and they trust each other. He has a sharp, sardonic wit, which he often uses as a defense mechanism during uncomfortable situations. But it also makes him entertaining and likable. SERIES REGULAR.
[ZUKO]
Male, Asian. Character is 17, male, of East Asian or South Asian heritage. In excellent shape, focused, and driven, Zuko has been driven to be an overachiever by his overbearing father, a career military man. Failure is never an option, and it doesn't matter who you hurt to get to the top. Zuko has struggled to reconcile that philosophy with his kind-hearted nature, and that conflict has made him intense and guarded, which is why he comes off as brusque and arrogant. When he discovers he's developed mysterious powers and is competing with Aang for a key role in their project, Zuko's father tells him to stop at nothing to win. And if he doesn't, he shouldn't bother coming home. SERIES REGULAR.

Netflix's 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' TV Series Character Descriptions & Logline Revealed

Casting had begun early last month for Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action series. The project is being cast by Marco Polo and Shang-Chi casting director PoPing Auyeung in Vancouver, Canada. The series will be showrun by Nikata writer Albert Kim. Who took it over after the original...

Katara's background is a little wut but it doesn't sound like they seriously aged them up.

I can see the tweet just fine?
It was dead for awhile

Wait hold on I just reread the backgrounds.

What the fuck.

It sounds like bending doesn't really exist in this universe????? What the fuck. "Mysterious powers" so pretty much nobody knows how to bend outside like 5 dudes? I guess that's one way to save on the budget.

These descriptions are sus af. Zuko and Aang are from the same school or something? Aang isn't from 100 years in the past?

Wonder how cost prohibitive it would be for CBSViacom to pull the plug on this, especially since the creators of the Avatar universe got Avatar Studios now.

Why does it say that Sokka is "Carrie's" brother? Are they planning to make Katara a nickname or something?

I'm kind of lost here. Is this really Avatar or a late April Fool's joke?

The Dragonball Evolution of Avatar.

Edit: Also, this is almost certainly fake.

Monk Gyatso??? Please tell me they didn't fucking get rid of him.

Also, Katara's mother killed in a supernatural event? No mention of Ozai permanently scarring his son and banishing him?

Call me over dramatic but fuck it: this is gonna be trash.

Seems like the ages are what they should about be. Wasn't there a rumor of them aging Katara up for Zuko?

Why are they making it sound like bending isnt a thing in the world?

No wonder the show creators dipped.

This sounds like it could almost take place in present day?
Aang isn't a monk?
a 12-year old and a 17-year old are competing for a "project"?

I'm sorry

Zuko and Aang are on a project together? Like a science slam or...? Competing for the same prize?

What the fuck is this? This can not be real. Or the descriptions are purposefully bizarre.
