75-80 is my guess.

Controls suck, atmosphere and story are great. Also visuals are top-notch.

Expecting it to average 70s with a few 80s based off my past experience seeing how their games turned out.

It's a Bloober Team game. They have some neat ideas and art is usually quite OK, but they often run short for the rest, expecting 6's and 7's at most.

Will try it on Gamepass though, I like the concept, and have visited Krakow enough to be willing to see a bit what a game does with it.
Digital Foundry had good things to say

"Performance-wise, this is a 30 frames per second experience, which is acceptable for a slow-paced horror adventure game - and the good news is that performance holds up on both Xbox Series X and Series S consoles in most scenarios, whether there's one view being rendered or two. There are some select scenarios with actual performance drops, but thankfully, they are few and far between. However, despite a relatively clean 30fps output, I found that improper frame-pacing is in effect. What this means is that although 30 unique frames are presented each second, they are not delivered evenly on every other screen refresh as they should be. This presents as a more inconsistent experience and some might even perceive a lower frame-rate. We reported this back to the studio, who promise that it will be addressed in a forthcoming patch, along with a current issue in the form of occasional flashing pixels. If you're seeing this during play, don't worry, your console is just fine!"

"While there's no doubt that The Medium is a little rough around the edges in terms of polish and its overall production values, the fact is that it's a beautiful and memorable horror adventure, and I'd rank it as the best title to emerge from Bloober thus far. I do think it's worth stressing that despite being an Xbox platform exclusive for now, The Medium is not a triple-A juggernaut in the traditional sense, but it is different, it is unique, and I highly recommend checking it out."

From everything I've seen about the story I would be shocked if it was great, the stiff animations and evil ghost kid stuff doesn't give me hope. Thats why I'm leaning in the high 60s low 70s. Hope im wrong though.

For this game to get 80+ score it has to have a great story which I don't think it got it.

Swimming on 7s or a 68 score. I predict.

The Medium doesn't resort to jump scares, choppy editing or lengthy wades through sordid torture porn territory. It avoids cheap gimmicks to shock and frighten. Instead, the game offers horror for grown-ups.

Our review:

The Medium Review - Paranormal Perfection

85/100

Literally straddling the line between supernatural and real-world horror, The Medium is satisfying, sleek, and sophisticated in every department. While it makes only limited use of its signature simultaneous reality mechanic, and features some of the same gameplay frustrations as earlier Bloober Team games, it's easy to overlook such stumbles. The Medium sidesteps scare gimmicks to deliver a masterclass in mature horror, one rooted in atmosphere, all-round restraint, and an enthralling region-specific story.

The Medium by Bloober Team is Xbox's Until Dawn. A brilliant horror game destined to become a cult classic.

I wish it pushed the dual reality gameplay further, but it makes up for its shortcomings with an excellent story, characters, and atmosphere.

The Medium Review: Well-Done

The Medium is a terrifying but compelling exploration of duality that uses the horror of personal trauma to craft a memorable tale.

Embargo's up which means I can finally say this. I've played it! I found it mature, gripping, scary and exciting but it may be a tad divisive. It is still a Bloober Team game through and through, so those expecting something closer to RE or Silent Hill may be let down. Game looks great too, especially the environments, but performance was hit or miss. The puzzles are fantastic as is the story.

Overall, had a great time.

Wow, this seems much better than I expected.

Now I'm even more crossing my fingers that my RX 580 can manage it decently.
