I thought the episode was fun, but I'll never cease to be baffled by all of the "give Favreau and Filoni the keys to the whole franchise!" posts. I mean the show is fine?

Who wrote and directed this one though? It was so uneven, some of the pacing was terrible, especially early on.

Timothy Olyphant is destined to be a Marshall in everything he shows up in. Hell, they could make a period piece about Jesus Christ and Olyphant would show up in a cowboy hat going, "Now hold up there, partner. Son of God or not, you're comin' with me."

I would watch the hell out of that.

Good episode. One of the best thus far, for sure. For whatever reason, this show doesn't get me hyped quite as much as, say, The Expanse and Star Trek: Discovery. But it's quality.

So much star wars goodness. Like that was just so much fun. How awesome was the large format film for Krait battle? Also was that part of Anakin's Podracer???

Was the guy at the very end actually the other Mandalorian? Or was he someone we should have recognized? Wife and I were really confused by him.

I honestly didn't recognize Temeura either, despite knowing who he is and the whole Jango/Boba/Clones connection. He looked way too different from when we saw him last. It wasn't until I saw his name in the credits that I was like "OOHHH"

Temuera Morrison, who plays Jango Fett, and Boba Fett (voice only...until now)

Can we kick anyone from the thread who types "bobba" when referring to Boba Fett? 😅

Great, great episode. This show continues to keep my love of Star Wars alive!

There was a time when I never thought we'd have seen a Krayt dragon and the return of Boba in a Star Wars story on scene. Wow.

was kind of a weak episode to start the new season off for me, too slow and not that exciting

This episode was nice to watch in 4K on my new OLED TV, not gonna lie.

Also, this episode was basically the plot of a Monster Hunter game lol. The monster was a mix of Nibelsnarf and Jhen Moran. Hell, I'd take this as a Monster Hunter adaptation over whatever stupid shit is in the upcoming movie lmao

Boba's gonna be mad when he finds out he needs to help the Jedi's
Feels like Moff will recruit boba to take down Mando

I like the idea of Boba Fett just being out for himself in this series. I'd love to see him become the fly in The Mando's ointment, a true and deadly rival. There's so much they can do with his character in this series. Here's hoping this season turns out to be as much fun as the first was.

I've seen people compare this show to a video game in S1 and that was pretty much a boss raid with sweet loot at the end.

Yeah when it went up on the mountain, that was some serious "Boss has entered Phase 2" energy.

Definitely not one of my favorite episodes but I liked it. I'm curious to see what they do with Boba Fett. Maybe they'll finally make him a decent character after all these years!

Good opener episode. The repeated 'save the village' plotline is getting a little old though. Anyone one else find the way the aliens speak perfect American English really jarring? They don't sound alien. Really distracting. Also that hangar lady just seems really out of place.
Cool references to Anakin's pod, Kotor, and boba though. Amazing special effects for the krayt dragon.

Favreau is nerding hard with this show, adding KOTOR stuff and making an entire episode to resemble a world boss hunt. He must be having the time of his life

It's not American English, it's Galactic Basic. In this universe a lot of aliens grew up with it just like humans did.

Love me some Timothy Olyphant. Was not expecting him to show up at all, much less in Boba Fett's armor!

well for starters they aren't aliens.

and what they are speaking is the basic language of the galaxy.
