Probably a mix of reasons on both Amazon and Alcon's side, but the final trilogy is a WHOLE OTHER THING in a lot of ways that ending after book six isn't shocking.

It's 30 years in the future, for a start, though they did have ideas of adapting that.

That was intense, though it was a bit hard to follow the positioning during the ring station action sequence. But as expected it all went by very very quickly and it felt like there wasn't enough time to let things play out naturally. Things happened and before you could get the impact of it we were already in the next scene.

Considering all this I feel they were really forced to cut the season's run time short because Amazon didn't wants to spend any more money on it, which only makes me fear that the TV series has well and truly ended.

For non book readers, the ending of last season with the Laconian ship, and all the Laconia stuff really would make little sense on what purpose they served. I wish they hadn't gone there at all.

EDIT: Ok that credit sequence, yea they're gonna do it ! I'm back to believing !

I really enjoyed that. Sad this is the end for the show but hopefully they can get funding for a movie or some other way to further tell the rest of the story. But I am not going to wait on that and will likely start reading the books.

I was going to go to bed expecting a press release about a mini series being released, but no. Well done to the team involved.

The very very end of the credit, it does a tease, there's also other stuff in the episode itself as well and throughout the season. Given how they closed, I thought it was done for good forever as well, but the fact that they do that in the credits after the last scene is what changed my mind about it. So I do think we get something in the future, but not anytime soon.

That said whatever they do, they'll have to decide on it quick if they want to retain the actors else it'll be hard to get them together once they go their separate ways.

I think they can speed it up to like 5-10 years.

I almost feel like if we get a new show it'll be focused on that ring planet and the kids and completely avoid the current cast. It was almost like a pilot built into all of season 6.

There are breadcrumbs to follow should they wish to and it does a tease even in post credits.

Man, I was really on edge watching that. Not knowing if they would be able to continue past book 6, I thought they might (book stuff) move forward at least 2 character send-offs. Then I was bummed about Filip's arc until I saw him float away on his Scooty-Puff JR. Where'd he get that? lol.

It really could have used an extra 15 minutes for pacing, but overall, it was amazing under the circumstances. I am a total wreck right now.

Thought they madea pretty significant book change with Filip since there was no station for him to go AWOL on but of course, the repair skiff.[\spoiler]

Obviously I'd take more but they wrapped up the last two seasons' plots very well. And the assault on the Ring station looked amazing.
