Are they releasing all episodes at once or is it per week again ?

All at once.

I'm really interested in seeing how they try to improve this book since it's almost unanimously considered the weakest. You can already see some changed in the trailer that I really like.

Same here.
I went ahead and read several reviews because I was curious as to whether or not the critics would negatively allude to the weak aspects. No one did, really; the only real complaint I was leveraged (and this was from someone who ultimately agreed with all the rest of the critics that it's another great season) was that it's kind of too back-and-forth with its plots at times. Which is almost reassuring in its own weird way, since the reviewer mentioned the hops between Ilus and then Bobbie's and Avasarala's content being the issue at certain points but then that kinda just goes to show that we're getting a solid amount of their stuff as well which will help spread things out better IMO. That particular reviewer basically just said the high-watermark is still season 3 because everyone came together in that one rather than there being isolated incidents. So they'll get more of that later anyway!

Are you shit magnets ready? I fuckin am !!
Let's go goddamit.

What a crazy ride. From the cancellation on SyFy to the hopes and prayers riding on Bezos to pick it up. And finally the confirmation that it was picked up. And now we're here. We here beretnas.

I've been looking at the old topics too. And the subreddit from the same timespan and the moment I threw my hands across my keyboard in a vain attempt to notify my roommates via Discord that the show was saved!

Wonder what the over/under on the amount of Confused Holden shots there will be in the season.

That's interesting! Book 5 is often considered the strongest of the bunch or at least among the strongest. Sorry to hear it didn't really click for you.

Really? Things that bothered me:

The team was split up the entire time. I hate it when the crew splits up...
I hated everything about the Naomi chapters. I sighed every time they came up.
She was held hostage again (just like at the end of book 4...). In the end, she got away on her own but she just felt way too fragile and helpless the entire time.
I hate Marco and Filip with a passion. I guess for Marco that's the point but he kind of felt a little too untouchable and I wanted to slap some sense into that fucking brat Filip so badly! I think Mao was a way better bad guy.

Amos' arc was the saving grace of the book for me.
I did enjoy Alex's and Holden's chapters as well and I wished they would have fleshed those stories out a little more.

I'm with you on this, I was so looking forward to reading Book 5 and it's been quite the let down so far. I'm about 75% through and hoping something good happens at the end because my reasons for disliking it seem to mirror yours.

I was rushing through The Expanse over the past few weeks until last weekend, thinking I have Season 4 to watch. Only to find out that the Season 4 link on Amazon prime was only to the Trailer and the Kevin Smith recap.

Still it has only been a week for me to wait for the next season to start. The Expanse has been one of my favourite's shows since who knows when.
Can't wait.

Nemesis Games seems to be one of the most devisive of the books. Personally it's my favourite so far.

Having the team split up made it even better when they all come back together. Alex and Holden being reunited, then Alex saying he's got an interesting message from Luna (where Amos is) was one of my favourite parts of all the books. The only bits I thought that dragged were Holdens early chapters. I just didn't find his stuff all that interesting.

Everything with Bobbie & Alex/Amos & Clarissa going on their own adventures was great. I thought Naomi's chapters were good too, NG really felt like her book considering all the stuff that happened to her.

So ready for some Amazon-budget Expanse

After watching Carnival Row, i'm really interested in what production values are going to be like this season.

I mean this is basically the CEO of Amazon personal Project investment so I'm guessing he's putting in a pretty big budget towards the series. I'm expecting bare minimum Stargate SG-1 and the max would be Star Trek movie production level.

The scene with Holden and Naomi telling the rest of the crew about their relationship and Alex losing the bet and getting pissy because the punch turned out to be a wet willy and then Amos telling Holden Naomi is like a sister but he'd do her if she'd let him, is one of the funniest moments in the show and I love it.

So I just watched this whole series over the last 2 weeks or so. Jolly good TV.

It's funny watching the steady transition to adding "fuck" to every conversation about half way through season 2 on. Started off as "huh, she said that huh" to "oh I guess it's a thing now" to "oh it's an every conversation thing now." lol.

Pretty solid show with some caveats. The conclusion of season 3 felt like several steps back in narrative quality from the two seasons that preceded it. James becoming so callous and angry so quickly was not enjoyable and I don't think it was earned, making it just feel weird. The Mao girl's daddy approval issues -> psychopathic murderer plot line was awful, and the last 2 or 3 episodes really, really dragged, but the episodes that came before it were generally great. I really like Roberta, Amos and Camina the most. I had started to like Klaes, so it's unfortunate he had to get headshot.

Anyway, glad I found this show and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing those plot lines improve.

IIRC, Season 1 was before SyFy allowed f-bombs. Then in S2 they moved to the 10/9 timeslot so f-bombs were allowed. Season 3 moved up an hour so they filmed with f-bombs but the audio got censored during broadcast.

I figured it was something like that. Was still funny, and very noticeable. I think they had Roberta say, "...and shut the fuck up!" at least once every episode in S3.

It was almost like a teenager enjoying the newfound freedom of being able to say naughty words around their friends. Like, alright chill. We get it.

Please somebody tell me Avasarala gets to run her potty mouth off.

That's all I need.
LA Times: Jeff Bezos' 'favorite TV show' is coming to Amazon. The creators say it's a perfect fit
Truth is, "The Expanse" never stinted on the use of expletives, but those terms were muted when the show aired on Syfy. Now that they can be fully heard on Amazon, people involved with the show feel it adds to the program's strengths. A character like Chrisjen Avasarala, for example, a U.N. diplomat played by Shohreh Aghdashloo, can now be heard in all her foul-mouthed, curses-like-a-sailor glory.

"The show has never really been graphic or exploitative," says Shankar, "but we don't have those restrictions now, so we can do things honestly. All of those elements add to making things more real; you're not being hemmed in."

"With Syfy, in the middle of the season, their standards and practices on profanity and nudity would change," notes Kosove. "We never knew from season to season what those standards and practices would be. Being able to have creative flexibility is helpful."

Does Prime allow downloads so you can watch offline like Netflix does?

I want to rewatch some episodes before season 4. What are folks' favorites across all 3 seasons?
Season 1: CQB (the Donnager episode), the last 2 episodes (Critical Mass, Leviathan Wakes)
Season 2: Godspeed, Home, Paradigm Shift (End of Book 1, start of Book 2), Here there Be Dragons (Bobbie's decision),
Caliban's War (mostly for the Avaserala/Cotyar/Bobbie stuff on Mao's ship)
Season 3: Fight or Flight (2nd half of the the Caliban War episode), almost everything from Triple Point to the end of Season 4, covering the end of Book 2 and Book 3.

My all time favorites would be CQB, Leviathan Wakes, Home, Triple Point, It Reaches Out, Fallen World and Abaddon's Gate.

Wondering what the "worst" episodes of the show are? Is there even a consensus? My guess would be maybe episode 2 or 3, a heavy Miller/Ceres episode.

Episode listing for help remembering what episodes are what.

Been watching on and off the big twitch marathon and it's better than i remember it. Seasons 2 and 3 really did get better with the writing and acting. S3 the effects got degraded probably because of budget but im sure Amazon fixed that.

Also amusing to see chat meme-ify everything in the show. Wonder if Amazon turns that shit into a giant data model graph and uses it to write future seasons.

20% more scenes of Amos eating chicken in a can.
