Looks great but I don't understand why make it so similar to dead space especially with the remake releasing soon. There is the stomp, the walking animation, the health bar, I even saw something that looks like the kinesis ability.
I applaud the resurgence of horror games but they should be more original. Not to mention all the PT clones we've had recently.

I have seen the gameplay video - can't find it now but it was in some thread here - and the framerate looked pretty bad. Has anyone else noticed that, or was the video I've seen just poorly encoded? It looked fantastic otherwise.

I have high hopes for this one, it looks amazing.

That said, there's a focus on porn violence in these trailers that it bummed me out a bit, I'm interested in grotesque creatures and oppressive atmosphere, violence is fitting but it's like they're too proud of it, like they know that's what people want. I would appreaciate the game even if deaths were just a hit and a red screen.

Dead Space 1 & 2 were super proud of themselves with the grotesque and over the top killing of Isaac so they're just carrying on the tradition. I still remember those "Your Mom Hates Dead Space" ads lol

It's good that this team could get away from EA and continue what is essentially dead space

I said it before but I also got a chuckle at the fact that th main character is Jacob, whos father is Isaac in the Bible. Just a cheeky call back

Because they were the ones who actually made Dead Space to begin with, and EA kicked them to the curb.

There were a couple frame drops, yes.
To me, from that video, it looked like the game was constantly running at 35-40FPS maybe. There was always some judder when the camera would move. But if that's really the case, all they have to do is lock it down to 30FPS, and hopefully have a performance mode at lower res. Game is definitely very ambitious and impressive visually, I really wonder what it will look like on PS4.

excited but the enemies so far are just... bland? I hope they go crazy with them

Seems like the one basic enemy almost has a copy/paste kind of face.... that's one thing that always bugs me in these kinds of horror/sci-fi games where you have some sort of mutated enemies that were normal people at one point but just kind of seem to share the same basic human face. Shouldn't there be a ton of different looking human faces/character models that are then subsequently all mutant/monster versions? I guess its mostly a problem when the humanized elements are still too identifiable. In something like Dead Space most of the enemies there are sufficiently mutated and gross looking that the copy/paste nature of them isn't as noticeable.

Yeh I agree with this, could at least change maybe race or gender or attire but I can see it being a lot of work though maybe they transform more later in terms of mutation making them more monstrous cause currently they just look like zombos. Though that part of gameplay where his wearing the suit, he is still encountering them so hopefully that is still early game. Yeh necromorphs had the advantage there. Still excited though.

Make us whole. Make us whole. Make us whole.

Man, day one for both this and Dead Space Remake. I'll be happy to show these games the love they deserve after nearly a decade of nothing related to Dead Space!

Never played Dead Space, and I'm not a horror game fan, but this looks really damn good.

This is the game I'm most excited about so far. Right up my alley! It feels like 2 good years for horror fans. Absolutely love it!

It's been such a long time since Dead Space 2 that I'll take all the sci-fi horror games I can get. Definitely buying both this and the DS Remake.

Looks amazing.

I love how this game could easily be Dead Space 4 if it was made by EA. Given how Dead Space 3 wrapped the first trilogy, I could easily see this being made as a franchise soft reboot (similar to Resident Evil 7) without even having to change anything we've seen so far.

Can't wait to play it. That environment execution was brutal.

not a very good trailer imo, rely too much on gore and Dead Space similarity with narration that didn't tell you much about what the premise of the game is. I had to look at the website to learn that it's about escaping a maximum security prison during the chaos when people start mutated. the trailer just need a few lines to explain the situation more clearly imo.

also, the way the trailer is edited, I'm not even sure if the guy where you can see the face of is actually player character or npc narrating the trailer.

That ending is great. Loving what they have been showing so far.

I loved what they showed so far. EA must be sweating right now xD. I mean the dead space remake is basically 1 to 1 so not a reimagining and its releasing a month after callisto.

Also is there already direct feed ofcthat gameplay sequence? Its still not on their own yt channel. Would love to see a 4k/ non stream rip of that.

They already had a trailer that explained the set-up two years ago. As for gore, nothing wrong with that in a horror game.

I guess I missed that trailer, I'm still interested in the game sinc I like Dead Space, it's just that after watching these trailer, I didn't feel like I learned anything other than made by Dead Space guy, didn't make me interested on the character or story or place etc

I like the TLOU2 dodge mechanic and overall gameplay.
The aesthetics though, I know it's a horror game, but it's too dark. I'm nitpicking at highest level.

Because it is effectively the proper-Dead-Space-3-with-a-different-name from the creator of Dead Space, and was the only one in the works until EA decided to make an actual Dead Space

I have that in my PC backlog so maybe it's time.

This looks absolutely crazy.

I won't be playing this, but it looks really cool. SF/horror in general is exactly my kinda thing, so I hope projects like this succeed and lead to more.
