But unless I'm over-thinking this it's easy math really:
If 50% PS4 only owners gives GoW 5 points (#1 spot) they can still give RDR2 4,3,2 or 1 point.
Plus we have the other 50% that can give it 5 point.
That's lots of potential points.
But a XB1 only owner that gives RDR2 5 points won't give GoW a single point. No 4,3,2 or 1 points there.
That's lots of potentially missed points.
There is of course the possibility that PS4 only owners gives GoW 5 points and RDR2 0 points, but I see that like a small percentage, definitely less that the Xbox only owners that gives GoW 0 points since they can't even play the game :P
If everyone who votes are multi-console owners it'll be fair though but that's not likely.

You're ignoring fanboynism, many console users will lend to the exclusive of their preferred console, this is and undeniable reality, we have years and years of console warring and controversies that prove this.
In the end this is what balances the extra popularity of multiplatforms.
That only works out well for the dominating console, like PS4 with 90 (?) million consoles sold.
What balance it out for Xbox One?
With that thinking there is zero chance that an Xbox One game will ever win GOTY no matter how awesome it is since there will always be more fanboys balancing it out on PS4 than Xbox One. No? It'll just be a PS4 game or a multiplat until next gen starts and it all resets.
Maybe that's Microsoft's masterplan with Play Anywhere, if they can't build a market share big enough to compete with Xbox, lets move it to PC as well!

First 3 goty for red dead should be added imo. I wonder why they are not added.
BioShock vs Super Mario Galaxy is the most contentious one.
Witcher 3 vs bloodborne is literally the least contentious ever. Wither 3 has won almost 10 times more goty than bloodborne.
Red dead vs mass effect is also same. Just double the amount of gotys from 2007 and Bioshock vs smg will become red dead vs mass effect.
And is the most rewarded game ever. Like you said, literally the least contentious there is on every place but Era.
To stay on topic, as for this one, I expect God of War to end up winning by around this ~30 margin it's been at for a while. So it would definitely be top 5.
The gap would have been smaller if people were not just looking for god of war goty but every goty. Or if red dead had as much supporters as gow in this thread.
The person running the site is going to gather all/most of the rewards regardless.

I'm debating getting it myself, the only AC game I've ever liked was Black Flag but I really liked it and consider it in my top 10 games of the gen. The main reason I liked Black Flag was the non-AC parts where I just got to be a pirate, and I've heard they've changed up the AC formula a lot with the past couple of entries so I'm interested again.

for what it's worth i loved black flag but didn't care for Origins. But I really dug Odyssey. More because of the world they created though. The ship stuff really isn't a focus with Odyssey as it was with Black Flag.
