Got stuck on Dreadful Situation side-quest. I'm pretty sure I've killed all the goons in AND around the building but the quest isn't progressing for some reason. After running around like an idiot, I got frustrated and just logged off for the night.

i hope they fix the xbox achievements eventually, and i also hope that any fix is retroactive.

The mission bug where you retrieve the bag for taoka seems to be fixed, i could not grab the bag before.

Is the part after 'fixed'? You have to deliver it, but there wasn't an NPC at the marker in the end.

Something's up - either the NPC is missing, the marker is wrong, or the quest shouldn't have been given to me at this stage and they'll show up later.

Game seems more polished after the patch. Shame there's still no HDR on Gamepass. I want to see the world pop.

This game as a GTA clone with vehicles and a deeper RPG system, possible companion system a-la-fallout.... Seriously they could get deep with the gameplay in the sequel. I wouldn't even mind paying 70 bucks. so much potential with this game.

It would be so cool if they made the game more of fleshed out, interactive world like GTA. The world-building is the best part of the Ascent, and it would be amazing if they could give you more things to do in the world other than just engage in combat (even thought the combat is very strong).

For me i could not pick up the bag but completed it without issues.

The final battle is chaotic but i made it without changing the difficulty.

Side missions all done except for the one where you save ubi because glitch is still on the game even after the patch.

Had to change gear and main weapon but could not change the perks because i was so used to them, exploding spiders and the cannon.

I just played the first couple hours via xCloud streaming. This game has no business being this good, so far at least. Super impressive style and visuals, too.

Well, add me to the .75% who have finished the game.

The new patch resolved almost all of the audio bug issues! It was a damned treat to run around and not hear endless ricochet noises and super loud drones drown out all of the ambience. I also completed all of the side quests while I was at it. My only issue was a crash that happened right at the last battle. My opinion on the game hasn't changed. A few more patches and Neon Giant will have themselves a special little ARPG here with an beautifully designed world. I had a blast with it despite all of the technical issues.

the PC GP patch didn't show up for me. But I managed to kill the spider bot without the difficulty option, after several tries. Then I got stuck on the spider bot's corpse because of course i did.

Just finished the game. Last two fights were pretty annoying. It didn't ruin the game for me overall but I do think the now labeled "normal" mode needs rebalancing. Some difficulty spikes were just unfair. Since only .75% of players have finished the game, I'm thinking the difficulty may be a factor. Trying to take cover during the final fight was a quick way to get wrecked. So in the end I just kept circling and using augments and grenades as often as possible.

The graphics were amazing and with the audio issues fixed it was a real treat for the ears too. I'd definitely love to see more from the team.

The last two fights had me pulling my hair because of difficult spike, i was 3 or 4 levels above of the recommended and still had issues in both.

The game is great but those spikes will make a lot of people abandon the game.

I mostly ignored the mobs. I would take out what I could when moving to the control panels, and then pop spider drones to head off enemies along with overclock to absorb damage while modifying the consoles. It went pretty quick for me that way since they just keep on coming. It's not worth spending a lot of time engaging them. Especially once you know which consoles to hit.

I've been thinking about what I want to do with this game, for the past day or so, and I think this past session has kinda sealed the deal on me maybe just being done with it.

I wanna say I've put about 7-8ish hours in overall, and I guess I'll get the good out of the way

  • I dig the gameplay, it's fun, and rather enjoyable
  • the visual presentation is spectacular
Those are kinda the two things in it for me so far, and I will say, the gameplay is enough for me to see it through till the end, except tbh, I am finding myself starting to already burn out and get tired of the gameplay loop. Very very questionable enemy placement (higher level enemies in areas where I'd argue they shouldn't be in relation to the quest I'm on), paired with just constant dying is just frustrating.

The story I do not care for whatsoever, and while I wasn't expecting that to effect my enjoyment, it kinda has. I just do not care for what is going on in this game.

I can see myself revisiting it down the road, as I said the gameplay is fun, but the moment I recognized that the only thing I enjoyed about this game was the gameplay, was also the moment I realized that it was going to probably get rather stale for me, and it has. I'll basically come back to this I'm itching for it, but for now I'm done.

had fun with the 7-8 hours I've had with it, but I think I've had my fill of what this game has to offer.

NGL if devs want to keep adding "Fill the Codex / Collect All X" type achievements can we please at least confirm these work beforehand?

I had to wait 5 patches for Dark Alliance to finally fix theirs, and now it looks like this game has the same issue with both of their "Codex" achievements.

First of all, this game looks incredible. What an amazing aesthetic and implementation.

However, shouldn't it be triggering my HDR or at least Auto HDR on my Series X + CX Oled? Is it a bug or is the game SDR only ?

Audio cracks a lot in the main menu as well, but that sounds more like a bug.

Reached level 10 and think I've had enough of this game. The combat is enjoyable the game is rough around the edges. The thing I hate most is the long walks to missions, crazy how fast travel (if it's even in this game, I asssume they are the points with "M" but I can't seem to use them yet) hasn't been unlocked by level 10.

I don't mind travelling long distances in RPGs, as long as there are things to explore and interesting npcs along the way but the game is bland and feels a bit empty. Also the loot I have found in crates have been lacking.

Fair play to anyone who stuck with this game. Especially when Death's Door is also out, which is a superior game to this. I'll come back when the game has been received a few updates and patches.

You can use a taxi as well as the train stations although they do want you to walk around a bit so you can be ambushed and have encounters. As for weapons you need to buy them or find the unique weapons in the world and hidden vendors.

Thing is, I don't really want those encounters though. It's normally trash level mobs, I rather just get to the actual side mission or main story quest.

EDIT: I didn't know about taxis. Maybe will give them a go, the game doesn't mention this at all.

Fast travel is accessed by pressing left on the D-PAD and is unlocked within the first two hours. Couldn't be any easier, honestly.

And it's T on PC to call a taxi. Game doesn't tell you I just figured it out because every new game I always go into the controls and look at what everything does and change things I don't like before I even start playing.

Fast travel works once you've visited a place. I mean, you have to do a mission somewhere and then you can fast travel. You can use the underground and a taxi.

I hope I expressed myself as english is not my mother tongue.

Fast travel taxi unlocks fairly early in the game. Haven't you reached that point yet?

lol at the bolded... You just needed to throw in a random game there? It's not even that good and it's slow and plodding with a truly bland and empty world as well extremely poor itemization and player progression. The Ascent is miles ahead in pure fun and candy for all senses. But you do you.

took a break from non stop playing Nero to try this since i was afraid of all the bugs ,got to level 10 luckily the game does have fast travel via trains and a taxi when you're safe because i was about to full drop it if it wanted me to run all back after each mission all the time.

enjoy the feeling of the shooting and i love me some loot but it hasn't clicked with me yet due to not finding anything that interesting outside of a aug that blows dudes up when i mark em ,i've seen one clip of crazier stuff but the question is is there a lot of it ,that and how much all the environments look the same despite them nailing the cyberpunk look and it all looks visually great for a 12 dev team i'm just wondering how much of this game is running around red neon highrises and factories lol

The game does tell you about this if you have tutorials on. But, yeah, good to know I'm not the only one who looks at the controls when booting up a new game (reading this thread made me sad realizing people don't even know you can do that).

The game mentions it after a main story mission early on. You gotta press I think left on the D-pad.

Gotta admit, I´m a bit jealous of the steam version. I specifically got the gamepass version to play with two friends who are on xbox.

So many features missing ... I wanna enjoy ray tracing and DLSS and HDR on my OLED. Worst of all, local couch coop is not working, wanted to show the game to some friends but we couldn´t even start a game, it would crash on New Game or loading a savegame.

Am I crazy or does raytracing work for me on GP? I mean people all over the place are saying that it's 'exclusive' to the Steam version atm but to the best of my eyes it definitely looks like it's enabled for me.

Yeah turns out I didn't actually get that far, spent a lot of time on side quests and can see it pops up after mission 3. I knew it wasn't a case of me missing the notification!

Yeah, that last fight was very challenging. Many of the bosses were for me. I had no problem dropping it down to easy difficulty. Even easy difficulty on that last fight was a challenge for sure. Overall, loved my experience with the game!
