Once Spike drooled over Cuaron's beach shot in Roma on the director's roundtable, the award was won. Spike knew.

Difficult to say what will happen since Bohemian Rhapsody wasn't in contention for Best Director.

The world is not prepared for a Marvel best picture, but it would be fun to see.

That's not true. She is clearly the lead

Think of the scenes where Rachel Weisz and Coleman are together, and vice verse with Stone. It's a love triangle and she's the prize

She's the prize but we see the film through the perspective of Stone's character, and the plot of the film is her leveraging the love triangle to gain power. Coleman is listed as the lead for The Oscars because the studio thought she'd win in that category and they were right.

Three films have the potential to play spoiler against Roma for Best Picture... thanks to their strong nights - Black Panther, Bohemian Rhapsody and Green Book.

Any one of those spoilers will make this thread explode.
Definitely rooting for Roma. I didn't even hate Green Book, but it doesn't deserve it.

Spike might be a little pissed, but at least he won something. Lol

The Academy changed their minds after he brought out the manuscript lol

Wonder how much Sacha Baron Cohen regrets quitting now, seeing that even a serviceable but unspectacular performance as Mercury wins an Oscar?

In a good world "Cowboys trade their Spurs for Wings" would have won best original song and "Burning" would have won best foreign film, but alas...
