Ted Cruz is just such a massive, massive piece of shit that this doesn't even remotely surprise me.
The only thing that would genuinely surprise me is if he were caught making an effort to help his fellow Texans.
I thought that maybe Ted planned this vacation awhile ago and this was school vacation week for his kids, but I checked a few different district calendars and it seems that Texas schools don't have the February break that schools in the northeast have.
They continue to vote him in. Everyone knows he's a piece of shit but they continue to vote him in because he's a Republican. At a certain point it's on you.
