As opposed to being in one kicking ass... definitely!
The way this currently looks you could quite easy switch out the mech for an organic creature and the woman for Dante and voila. You're playing DMC.

Apologies, I could have worded the OP a bit better on that front, but I was pretty tired and working at the same time when I made it. I see why someone might think they're about to see a character action game where you are piloting a mech, which would honestly be infinitely cooler.
As much as I would like to get excited about it, I remember an event from Sony in China from a couple years ago where they shown some upcoming games by Chinese developers (some of them looking really cool), but I don't remember a single one of them being released so far ?
A few have come out like Immortal Legacy and Hardcore Mecha. Others like Anno:Mutationem, Project Boundary, and FIST have been getting new trailers and such so it seems like they're on track. The one that most people seemed to be really interested in, Lost Soul Aside, has gone pretty much quiet though, which is why you may have that perception.
That's kind of a tangential point though, as Chinese development beyond Sony's China Hero Project has definitely been making major leaps these last few years, so I don't think its fair to judge the state of all Chinese games based on Sony's project alone.
If it's like "socialism with Chinese characteristics", it's probably a strictly turn-based action game. /s
But seriously, Chinese games continue to look better every year. I hope that trend continues.
When I read "mecha", I thought you're actually controlling one, not a female character. :/

This looks promising. Really excited to see how the Chinese AAA market grows over the next few years with games like Gujian 3, Black Myth: Wukong, Lost Soul Aside (if it ever comes out >.<), Bright Memory. I feel like the Chinese market has a ton of potential to become a powerhouse with their own unique stylees of games alongside Japan and the West.
Thank you for your reply! I really need to look up those games you mentioned. After seeing how good Genshin Impact was, I really want to play some AAA console games made by Chinese developers
If you have a PC I recommend checking out Gujian 3. It definitely has some jank, and the translation is a little spotty, but it's a very distinctly Chinese game. It felt like a Chinese take on a modern Final Fantasy game.

I think it could be good, need to add more move and a bit more oomph to effects and enemy reaction.
Mostly taunt with benefit such as filling your devil trigger gauge, though in DMC5, Dante have a move called QuadS that allow him to use Sin Devil Trigger for couple of secs without using his energy gauge when he's in SSS rank.

Chinese game developers seem to have a preference for action games. Between LSA and Monkey Key and now this.

Exactly. Like Lost Soul Aside made me hype. But alot of games since have felt like generic clones of it. It's a chase to get to Nier Automata status again. With DMC elements.
