Where is it confirmed its SE Store only? I'd give it a couple of days first.
It should certainly scratch the itch for the same kind of political Matsuno story, just with less supernatural elements
It doesn't do the job system as well as FFT but I still like the game slightly more overall personally
They do at least have the tarot cards available separately that also comes with the mat and bag from the JP collector edition

Back on topic, I've never played Tactis Ogre, but I'm 100% getting this when it drops on Steam.
oof, the tarot set is $50. i love the art but that is hard to stomach. would've gladly paid $20 at most for them.
Do people ever buy these? I get games digitally a lot and I love artbooks but they're one of these things that is better physically for the experience. I read most books as ebooks but an artbook or photobook? You better believe I want that printed on nice paper.

i don't mind digital artbooks. but i do prefer physical ones.
They released a blog post talking about the game and they confirm the physical edition (if it's store exclusive or not, they don't clear that subject).
Ok, Square has the Tarot cards sold separately, so...no bundle for me, but I got what I really wanted.

Very seldom they put those steelbooks up as SE points rewards. fingers crossed. (although SE points are a scam since you still pay shipping LOL) I have like 600 unredeemed points

In classic Square Enix fashion, PSN, eShop, and XBL (when it applies) pages always get put up within min of announcement along with preorders. Steam page is always days late.

Depends on what is more important to you, portability or higher resolution (+duelsense features?). I think everything else will be the same.
As always I would say wait and see how it performs on Switch
I have the same issue, I know this series from a long time (since FFT days) but there's so many games...
Taxes & shipping cost were more painful than the actual game.
Edit: to mogster7777 & IzzyRX these games can easily be played as separate experiences. They are not all telling parts of one story.

It's basically a glow-up of a PSP game so I would be shocked if it didn't run well/fine.
FFT and TOPSP had full rebalance mods that are well liked. The same is what people are hoping for here.

There's a rebalance mod for it already. I don't think anyone ever bothered to completely revamp the story or introduce new characters like people did with FF Tactics.
It is more like a Star War reference. There is only one game released before Tactics Ogre and it is perfectly fine to start with this.
Yeeeeees. I dunno if he truly has 4 ogre battle games that he wants to make or was just going a star wars. Start with later episodes kind of thing. But a new game would be incredible
Not sure if I will get this day one, but it will be added to my Steam library at some point. Now I just need to wait for FFT and I will be happy.
Positioning, Rune drops, and powered squares (Friendly melee unit successfully attacks mob, leaves buff on opposing side) are my main areas of interest. Story was good, but the gameplay mechanics seared the game into my memory.
Ehhhhh, not a fan of the vaseline-filtered (or at best one-shot AI upscaled) spritework look, particularly on the character sprites, but I'm also a crazy person who doesn't mind jagged pixel art or at most a tasteful CRT scanline filter..
